Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Nicholas Seiken
Nicholas Seiken

Three-way to fifth street after all players checked the previous round, Eric Kurtzman decided to lead out. He earned calls from both Nicholas Seiken and Mike Wattel.

Kurtzman checked on sixth and Seiken checked as well. Wattel's board featured three Broadway cards and he bet. Kurtzman and Seiken, however, were both interested in seeing their third hole cards.

The final betting round was checked and Wattel showed a king for a pair. Seiken quickly declared that he had two pair, exposing his hand. Kurtzman sent his cards to the muck and Wattel grabbed his hand, briefly studied it and then released as well.

Eric Kurtzman: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Nicholas Seiken: {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} / {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Wattel Rivers Two Pair

Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Mike Wattel: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} / {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Matt Grapenthien: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Mike Wattel raised with an ace out and bring-in Matt Grapenthien called with a trey. Wattel bet on fourth street and "Grapes" called but Wattel slowed down when he saw Grapenthien hit a third wheel card on fifth. Grapenthien used his board to fire and Wattel called. Then he decided to lead on sixth himself and Grapenthien stuck around.

Wattel placed in one final bet on the river and Grapenthien tossed in calling chips.

"Aces up," Wattel said showing aces and sixes. Grapenthien couldn't beat that.

Greg Mueller was one of the players who entered the tournament today but he was immediately involved in a large pot. Unfortunately for him, he ended up on the wrong side of a cooler.

Mueller had ace-five suited out on fourth street, betting in a spot versus Ben Yu. Yu called and Mueller kept barrelling all the way. Both players paired their boards on sixth street with Yu catching eights while Mueller hit sixes.

Mueller fired one more time on the river but Yu check-raised and Mueller knew it was a bad sign. However, he'd made an ace-high flush and couldn't escape so he threw in calling chips.

Ben Yu: {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades} / {7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Greg Mueller: {Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{K-} / {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

"Wow," Mueller said when Yu showed him sevens full.

He flashed his cards and then continued in amazement.

"Look at that vicious pot! 150,000 pot!" he said.

Yu soared over 300,000 in chips while Muller was downed to only 28,000 and he would lose them in the following minutes.
