Grapes Hits a King

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Matt Grapenthien completed and called when James Obst made it two bets.

The two continued to fourth street and Obst kept firing. Grapenthien check-called on fourth and repeated the action on fifth.

Sixth street, however, gave Grapenthien a second king to his board and he led out with his high pair. Obst moved a protecting chip away from his cards, then he took them and paused for a few seconds before finally sliding his hand into the muck.

Matt Grapenthien: {X-}{X-} / {7-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
James Obst: {X-}{X-} / {J-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} - fold

Gronning Magnetizes Hearts, Runs into a Boat

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Lars Gronning
Lars Gronning

A few moments ago, Lars Gronning rolled out an all-heart board in a hand against Andrew Kelsall. His board looked almost identical when he went to a battle against Jordan Siegel.

Siegel completed with a nine of spades and Gronning had the bring-in with {3-Hearts}. He called and caught a suited queen while Siegel spiked a suited ace. Siegel led out and Gronning called.

His board hit another heart on fifth and Siegel slowed down, check-calling. Siegel then paired an eight on sixth and check-called one more bet as Gronning hit yet another heart card.

Siegel checked the river, allowing Gronning to fire one final barrel. Then he check-raised and Gronning called.

"Aces full," Siegel said, opening his {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{10-Clubs} / {9-Spades}{A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Gronning tapped the felt and mucked his hand, shaking his head.

Seiken Bricks His Big Draw

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Eric Kurtzman completed with the {A-Clubs} and three players joined him to fourth street: James Obst, Nicholas Seiken, and Mike Wattel.

Obst and Wattel folded to Kurtzman's bet when he had ace-king out, but Seiken called with two spade cards.

Fifth street was checked but Kurtzman's board paired a six on sixth and he fired again. Seiken called and Kurtzman bet the river.

"Open-ended, flush draw," Seiken whispered with a sad tone. However, he still made the call.

"I have a set," Kurtzman said, showing {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} / {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} for the winner.

Seiken flashed two of his cards which looked to be {J-Clubs}{10-Spades} and then repeated that he missed a big draw.

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With well over 100,000 already in the middle, Lars Gronning bet on sixth street, earning calls from Jordan Siegel and Yaniv Birman. All players checked the river and Gronning announced, "Kings up," revealing pairs of kings and fours. Siegel and Birman mucked and Gronning scooped a hefty pot.

Lars Gronning: {K-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} / {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Jordan Siegel: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}
