Assorted Counts From Level 3

Level 3 : 250/500, 0 ante

William Huntress raised to 1,700 in the hijack and was called by David Fink in the cutoff and the big blind. On the flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, action checked to Huntress and he continued for 3,500. Fink called and the big blind check-raised to 16,000. Huntress folded and Fink called.

Both remaining players checked the {5-Hearts} on the turn, and a bet of 26,000 on the {2-Spades} river forced a fold from Fink.

Fraser MacIntyre and Ryan Goindoo were among those to take a seat at the start of level three.

Karakitukov Triples Up in Spectacular Fashion

Level 2 : 200/400, 0 ante
Veselin Karakitukov
Veselin Karakitukov

On a three-way flop of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, Jason Mercier had checked over to Ryan D'Angelo in the hijack, who made it 13,000 to go. Veselin Karakitukov on the button called and Mercier raised the pot to 57,400. D'Angelo called and Karakitukov then pushed all in over the top, Mercier and D'Angelo also ended up all in.

Veselin Karakitukov: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Ryan D'Angelo: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Jason Mercier: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Both D'Angelo and Mercier had flopped the nut straight and had a redraw to a better straight while Karakitukov needed the board to pair. The {2-Hearts} turn was a blank, but the {J-Diamonds} on the river brought the help for the Bulgarian, who tripled up for 112,100. D'Angelo and Mercier were left short as a result.

Two years ago, Karakitukov finished 5th in this very event and is on the best way for another deep run.

Kalb's Boat Is Best

Level 2 : 200/400, 0 ante

The board read {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs} and there were about 10,000 chips in the pot when we got to the table. Action checked to Jacob Kalb on the button and he bet 4,000. Jesse Chinni called from the big blind and Ben Tollerene called from the cutoff.

The {Q-Diamonds} fell on the river and action checked to Kalb again. He bet 8,000, Chinni called, and Tollerene folded. Kalb tabled {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and took the pot with fives full of threes.

Baron Takes from Taylor

Level 2 : 200/400, 0 ante

Connor Drinan has joined the field and lost a few chips early on and Esther Taylor just experienced the same fate. On the river of a board {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Taylor made it 13,000 to go and Isaac Baron called after brief consideration.

Taylor showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Baron claimed the pot with {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} for a straight.

Han Busts in Very First Hand

Level 2 : 200/400, 0 ante
William Huntress
William Huntress

Not long ago Edward Han walked into the tournament area and took a seat over on table 455. However, he only lasted exactly one hand after going to war with William Huntress. The duo got their chips in preflop and the following cards were tabled:

Edward Han: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
William Huntress: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Huntress got there with the runner-runner flush to eliminate Han.

Soon after, Huntress took on David Fink. After betting the {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop from under the gun, Huntress checked the {3-Spades} turn and Fink checked back from one seat over. The {10-Diamonds} fell on the river and Huntress bet 10,000, which Fink called. Huntress rolled over the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for a full house and scooped another pot.
