Chen An Lin Eliminated in 18th Place ($18,600)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Chen An Lin
Chen An Lin

Having got a double up with against Andre Haneberg just a couple of hands ago, Chen An Ling three-bet shoved over Haneberg's open again and for a second time, Haneberg made the call.

Andre Haneberg: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Chen An Lin: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The dealer put out {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades} on the flop and Haneberg had paired his queen. Lin needed something pretty special to turn the hand around. Though the {10-Clubs} turn helped, the {9-Diamonds} river was a brick and Chen headed towards the payout desk.

Davies Gets Some Back from Marder

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Michael Marder raised to 55,000 from the hi-jack and Seth Davies called from the small blind. They went heads-up to the {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and Davies check called a bet of 55,000 from Marder.

Both players knuckled the felt when the {9-Hearts} hit the turn and the river was the {8-Clubs}. Davis fired out a bet of 215,000 and Marder thought it over for about 30-seconds before calling.

Davies turned over {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a straight to the queen and Marder doubled check his hole cards before he fired his hand into the muck.

Hakim Extending His Lead

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Jeff Hakim has extended his lead against his opponents. The most recent chips came from Dylan Linde, who had been sat in second place prior to the hand but who has moved down into fourth.

Action was on the turn with {4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} showing and Hakim checked to Linde who bet 186,000 and Hakim called. The {8-Clubs} river went check-check and Hakim showed {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to win the pot.

Ace from Space for Marder

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Michael Marder
Michael Marder

Michael Marder raised to 50,000 from late position and Seth Davies re-raised to 160,000 from the small blind. The big blind folded and with the action back on Marder he moved all-in for 674,000. Davies snap called turning over {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} and Marder showed {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

A person on Marder's railed yelled for the "ace ball" just as the dealer spread the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. There was indeed an ace in the window for Marder to take the lead and Davies was now the one who would need to improve.

The turn {2-Diamonds} left Davies drawing to the final king in the deck but the {10-Clubs} river card sealed the deal for Marder who doubled his stack.

Seth Davies
Seth Davies

Samuel Gagnon raised to 45,000 from under the gun and Seth Davies re-raised to 130,000 from middle position. It folded back to Gagnon who slid out a stack of about 750,000 green chips. Davies moved all-in for 838,000 and Gagnon called.

Seth Davies: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Samuel Gagnon: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Davies' pocket queens held up to earn him the massive double-up and vault him back near the top of the chip counts.

Javier Fernandez Eliminated in 19th Place ($15,051)

Javier Fernandez

With less than 14 big blinds and the action unopened to him, Javier Fernandez moved all-in for 269,000. Samuel Gagnon made the call from the big blind and the all-in player was a little way ahead.

Javier Fernandez: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Samuel Gagnon: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The {5-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop made a pair for both players but it moved Gagnon into the lead. Fernandez needed an ace, a jack or running straight cards to turn things around. The {7-Diamonds} turn and {8-Spades} rivers bricked however and Fernandez hits the rail.

David Peters Eliminated in 20th Place ($15,051)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

The action folded to Dylan Linde on the button and he tossed out a raise. David Peters moved all-in for his last 300,000 from the small blind and the big blind folded. Linde quickly called and the hands were shown.

Dylan Linde: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
David Peters: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The dealer fanned the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop and Linde flopped top two pair to take control of the hand. The turn {k-Clubs} and river {4-Clubs} were no help to Peters and he is the 20th place Event #43: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em taking home $15,051.
