Chong Cracks Aces to Burst Turbo Bubble

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

A player raised to 3,500 and Victor Chong flat-called. A short stack also called and the three saw a flop of {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The initial raiser continued for 4,500 and Chong called. The short stack moved all in for 6,500 and both players called.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds}. It checked to Chong who moved all in and the other player folded.

After the hands at other tables were completed, the cards were turned over.

Victor Chong: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
All-in player: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Chong had flopped a set, and the all-in player would need to find an ace to stay alive. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and he was eliminated as the bubble boy of Event #45.

De Goede Scores Big Double on Bubble

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

A player raised to 3,800 and Pim De Goede three-bet all in for 23,400 from the big blind. The initial raiser called and, after waiting for the other hands to finish, the cards were turned over.

Pim De Goede: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The flop was a good one for De Goede, coming {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. For some reason, the Dutchman was calling for an eight to give his opponent a set, but the board ran out {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} and De Goede doubled up.
