Sammer Gets a Four-Bet Through

Level 33 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Justin Quincannon opened to 350,000 in the cutoff and Chris Chong three-bet to 880,000 from the button. Harald Sammer was in the big blind and eyed both of his opponent's stacks. He thought for a minute, then four-bet shoved all in for 6,630,000.

Quincannon quickly disposed of his cards, but Chong had a bigger decision to make. Chong went into the tank for over three minutes, but decided he did not want to put his tournament in jeopardy and his cards hit the muck as well.

On a flop of {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, Rittie Chuaprasert checked from the big blind to Justin Quincannon in the hijack. Quincannon threw in a bet of 375,000 and Chuaprasert check-raised to 1,600,000. Quincannon snap-shoved all in for 5,800,000 which drew a response from Chuaprasert.

"What?" Chuaprasert asked, making sure he heard his opponent correctly. Chuaprasert thought for a moment and then made the call for what would be the biggest pot of the tournament. Chuaprasert turned over {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush and Quincannon held {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw.

The turn brought the {q-Diamonds} and the river was the {5-Diamonds} — two red cards, but neither was a heart as Chuaprasert took down the pot with a flush. The chip stacks were compared and Quincannon was barely covered, sending him to the payout desk in 18th place.

Manzanares Doubles Through Salmon

Level 33 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Raul Manzanares Lozano moved all in for 1,560,000 from under the gun. It folded to James Salmon in the hijack who three-bet all in for a little over two million. The remaining players folded.

Raul Manzanares Lozano: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
James Salmon: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{q-Spades} to give both players sets, but Manzanares' was best and he doubled up to 3.3 million, leaving Salmon with just 850,000 behind.

McHugh Runs Queens Into Rusnak's Aces

Level 33 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Shyam Srinivasan raised to 325,000 from middle position and Francis Rusnak just called from the cutoff. Colin McHugh was in the small blind and reraised to 1,300,000. Srinivasan quickly got out of the way and Rusnak shoved all in for 2,795,000. McHugh asked for a count and then made the call.

Rusnak turned over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} while McHugh had {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The flop came {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Rusnak's aces were still out front. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and McHugh was left drawing to one of two queens in the deck. The dealer burned and slid the {k-Diamonds} across the board as the rail almost exploded, thinking it was a queen. As it turned out, Rusnak held on to score a double-up.

James Salmon Eliminated in 17th Place ($44,833)

Level 33 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
James Salmon
James Salmon

Daniel Sprung just left a sour taste in Tommy Nguyen's mouth after cracking his aces with {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. It was a blind-versus-blind situation and the board ran out {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} to give Sprung a straight and leave Nguyen with just his overpair.

In the next hand, the action folded to Nguyen in the small blind who limped in. James Salmon was in the big blind and shipped all in for around 1,650,000. Nguyen instantly called and the cards were on their backs.

Tommy Nguyen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
James Salmon: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Nguyen was in a dominating position again and was hoping for a better result this time around. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} giving both players a pair of kings, with Nguyen holding the better kicker. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the river the {4-Hearts}. Nguyen's two pair with an ace-kicker held on to eliminate Salmon in 17th place.

Manzanares Wins a Flip

Level 33 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Raul Manzanares Lozano opened to 320,000 from the cutoff and Tommy Nguyen announced all in from the big blind. Manzanares thought for a brief moment, realizing he would be the one at risk, and then made the call.

Manzanares tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and was up against the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} of Nguyen. The flop came {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Manzanares flopped a set of sevens, leaving Nguyen drawing dead already. The insignificant {a-Clubs} and {2-Spades} completed the board and Manzanares continued his comeback with another big double up.
