Welcome to Day 1a of Event #48: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em MONSTER STACK

Today will see thousands of hopeful players descend upon the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino with the aim of turning $1,500 into a potential $1,000,000 as Day 1a of Event #48: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em MONSTER STACK gets underway.

Last year, Brian Yoon won $1,094,349 after he came through a 6,716 player field to take away the biggest share of the $9,066,600 prize pool and a coveted gold bracelet.

Players will sit down with 15,000 chips, which is twice the regular WSOP starting stack, with blinds at 25/50. Ten 60-minute levels will be played out with 20-min breaks every two levels and a 75-min dinner break after the 6th level.

The five-day MONSTER STACK event will have two starting flights, with players having to select one to play. There are no re-entries allowed, and players are restricted to playing in just one starting flight..

The players who progress from Day 1a and tomorrow's Day 1b will come together for Day 2 on Monday, June, 25 at 11 am.
