Karmatakii Gets a Double

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Arsenii Karmatakii
Arsenii Karmatakii

Arsenii Karmatakii was sat in the big blind with around 13 big blinds, when it folded to Sergio Aido in the small. He set Karmatakii all in and it was a call from the Russian, taking them heads up with the Russian's tournament life on the line.

Arsenii Karmatakii: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Sergio Aido: {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Karmatakii survived, just as players got ready to head into the break.

Bellande Continues to Climb

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

On a board reading {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades}, the action was on Jean-Robert Bellande who bet 150,000 into a pot of around 250,000. Sergio Aido check-called from early position and the {6-Spades} completed the board.

Aido checked again and Bellande chose to check as well. Aido turned over {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Bellande showed {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} to take down the pot with a pair of eights.

Mostly Small Pots Changing Hands

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Play has slowed considerably since players went back to playing six-handed. The pay increases happen after every two eliminations from this point until the final table. There are also a few short stacks in play, and both may well be factors in the change of pace we have seen.

Yann Brosolo Eliminated in 13th Place ($26,698)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Yann Brosolo
Yann Brosolo

Just minutes ago, Yann Brosolo was on the up but that has all changed, following a clash of hands with Eric Blair.

Brosolo opened the action and Blair three-bet him. Back on Brosolo and he four-bet all in and it was a snap from Blair.

Eric Blair: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Yann Brosolo: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The board held for the ladies and Blair has jumped into the chip lead with 12 players remaining.

There will be a seat redraw taking place as the final 12 combine on to two tables. Full details and chip counts coming shortly.

Blair and Brosolo Double Through Mackey

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Eric Blair raised to 50,000 on the button and James Mackey three-bet from the small blind. Blair shoved all in for 644,000 and Mackey quickly called. Blair tabled {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} and was up against the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} of Mackey. The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Blair earned a double-up.

Just a couple of hands later, Mackey opened to 55,000 on the button and Yann Brosolo shoved all in for 484,000 in the small blind. Mackey thought for a moment but still made the call. Brosolo turned over {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Mackey was behind again with {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. The board came {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Brosolo held on to double through Mackey again.

Aido Doubles Up at Guerrero's Expense

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

Sergio Aido opened under the gun to 65,000 and it folded around to Jimmy Guerrero in the small blind. He shipped all in, which was enough to cover both Aido and Arsenii Karmatakii in the big blind. Karmatakii quickly folded but Aido went deep into the tank. After several minutes, Arthur Morris called clock and Aido made the call.

Sergio Aido: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Jimmy Guerrero: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Aido was the favorite and the {7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} board changed nothing, netting Aido the pot. He apologized for taking so long. The next elimination will miss out on a pay jump so there is a lot for players to consider.

Guillaume Diaz Eliminated in 14th Place ($26,698)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Guillaume Diaz
Guillaume Diaz

Just a few hands ago, Guillaume Diaz lost a pot against James Mackey. Diaz folded on the river but it left him nursing a short stack and just now he decided to move all in when it came unopened to him on the cutoff. Mackey asked for a count and called from the blinds.

Guillaume Diaz: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
James Mackey: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Diaz had got it in ahead, albeit not by a huge margin. On to the flop and it came {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, which gave Mackey top pair and Diaz a gutshot and an over. The {10-Diamonds} turn brought out a flush draw for Diaz but the {3-Hearts} river bricked and he made his way towards the exit.
