Ferguson Applying Pressure

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson has built quite the stack since the start of day and he is using it wisely.

It folded around to Ferguson on the button and he announced the words "all in" to effectively put both players in the blinds all in. Ferguson covered them both, but neither wanted in on the action and both players folded their hand.

Double Up for Berende

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

It folded to Paul Berende on the button and he raised to 12,000. The player in the big blind defended and they both saw the {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Spades} and the player in the big blind lead out with a 15,000 bet.

Berende called and the {8-Spades} turn came down. Berende's opponent put in another bet of 30,000 and Berende took his time to eventually raise all in for 75,000. After a couple of minutes, his opponent called and the cards went on their backs.

Berende had {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts} for a flush draw and trips and his opponent opened up {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for bottom pair. The river was the {7-Spades} and Berende improved to a flush to bust his opponent.

Sarmienco Busts Two With Quads

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A player was already all in and there were three others involved in the hand when the {3-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop was dealt. Two more players got their money in the middle on that flop and the fourth player in the hand folded.

The player that was all-in preflop had {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and needed to hit a jack against the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} of the other at-risk player and Sarmienco with {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and Sarmienco's set of treys was still good, but he improved even more by hitting quads on the {3-Diamonds} river.

Savas Eliminates Two

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Renee Savas limped from early position and another player called all in for his final 3,000. A player in late position shoved all-in for 46,000 to isolate the all-in player. Everybody else folded to Savas and she called.

Savas was holding {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} and the all-in player had {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. The other player in the hand who tried to isolate had {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

The board came down {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} and Savas hit a flush on the river to eliminate both players from the tournament.
