Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Michel Abecassis
Michel Abecassis

Michel Abecassis and David "ODB" Baker had a raising war preflop, and the two proceeded to get their stacks in.

David "ODB" Baker: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Michel Abecassis: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The board was {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades} with Baker making trip threes, with Abecassis failing to make a low.

Brandon Shack-Harris Eliminated in 12th Place ($31,334)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Brandon Shack-Harris

Michael McKenna raised under the gun and Brandon Shack-Harris stuck in his 130,000 on the button. Chris Lee called in the big blind.

"I guess I don't have much choice," McKenna said, putting in a call.

The flop came {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Lee check-folded to 175,000.

Michael McKenna: {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}
Brandon Shack-Harris: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}

McKenna had two pair and blockers, and the {7-Diamonds} turn and {q-Hearts} river kept him best for a scoop.

Jason Gooch Eliminated in 14th Place ($25,695)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Jason Gooch
Jason Gooch

Jason Gooch raised in the cutoff and Chase Steely isolated him with a reraise on the button. Gooch got it in there with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Steely had {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The {10-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop didn't give Gooch much reason for optimism and he headed for payouts after the {10-Diamonds} turn left him drawing dead.

Andreas Klatt Eliminated in 15th Place ($21,602)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Andreas Klatt

Andreas Klatt potted on the button with 5,000 back and Chris Lee looked at his holding a few times before reluctantly putting Klatt all in out of the big blind.

Andreas Klatt: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Chris Lee: {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Klatt's holding had Lee crushed but the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} changed that in a hurry.

"Wow," Klatt whispered.

Klatt still had a wheel draw but the {j-Clubs} and {a-Spades} gave Lee a boat to scoop.

Randy Ohel Eliminated in 16th Place ($21,602)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

Randy Ohel raised to 84,000 and Phil Galfond called out of the big blind. The flop came {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Galfond checked and snap-called when Ohel jammed about 140,000 in. Ohel had aces: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}. However, he'd been outflopped by {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}.

"Top two and spades?" Ohel asked. "That's not good."

The dealer brought forth a {2-Hearts} on the turn to give Ohel a shot at a low, which Ohel said was, in fact, good. However, the {10-Clubs} river was not, and Galfond sent him packing with a boat.

Players are on break for 15 minutes.

McKenna Busts Gamble and Josephy in Monster Pot

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Michael McKenna
Michael McKenna

Five players built a pot of nearly 300,000 preflop and it came {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Nathan Gamble potted in the big blind, Cliff Josephy piled in the next seat for about 260,000 and Michael McKenna repotted in the next spot. It folded back to Gamble and he called off his last 40,000 or so.

Nathan Gamble: {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Cliff Josephy: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Spades}
Michael McKenna: {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

McKenna had flopped the nuts and covered everyone. The {a-Diamonds} turn and {k-Clubs} river only made his straight bigger and he sent Gamble and Josephy to the rail as they failed to improve top two and a combo draw, respectively.

Straight Flush for the Chop

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Chad Power
Chad Power

The flop came {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and it was three-way action at Table 431. The first two players checked to Chad Power on the button, and he bet 66,000. Marco Johnson potted in the small blind for 262,000, the third player mucked and Power said he was all in. Johnson quickly called off his 200,000 or so.

Marco Johnson: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Chad Power: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

"Oh man, all the club blockers," Power said. "I'm in rough shape against that hand."

He implored the dealer for a low card and got one: the {4-Clubs}, giving him the nut flush. Johnson slid his chair back to exit but an {8-Clubs} river stopped him in his tracks as he made a straight flush, with Power getting a runner-runner low to chop.

The two agreed it was a fair result.

"Both of them did their pro move," someone else said. "He said he was in rough shape and he got up."

Final 24 Ready for $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship Day 3

Can Nathan Gamble add the $10,000 PLO8 title to the $1,500 PLO8 title he won in 2017?
Can Nathan Gamble add the $10,000 PLO8 title to the $1,500 PLO8 title he won in 2017?

Just 24 players remain in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship, with plenty of big names still in the hunt for their first - or maybe another - WSOP gold bracelet.

Leading the way is chip leader Michael McKenna, who is the only player with a seven-figure stack. Earlier this week McKenna made the final table of the $1,500 Razz and will be looking to hold on to his chip lead through the early stages of Day 3, with the prospect of another final table right around the corner.

Half of the players left in this event have won bracelets before. This includes last year's Player of the Year Chris Ferguson who won his sixth bracelet at the World Series of Poker Europe in Rozvadov last year. He took down the €1,650 Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better for €39,289, so already has experience of winning a WSOP bracelet in this format.

Nathan Gamble was chip leader in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better heading into the final day earlier this week. Gamble was the defending champion of that event, eventually finishing tenth.

With plenty of other big names including Michel Abecassis, Randy Ohel, Brandon Shack-Harris, David "ODB" Baker, Phil Galfond and Eli Elezra still in contention, stay tuned to PokerNews as we play down to a winner today.
