Boyd Sends One to the Rail

Level 9 : 300/600, 100 ante
Dutch Boyd
Dutch Boyd

A player went all in with a stack of around five blinds and Dutch Boyd made the call. It was a flip situation, Boyd holding {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} against {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for his opponent.

The board {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{q-Hearts} gave at first the winning hand to Boyd's opponent but a {2-Diamonds} came on the river, eliminating him from the tournament.

Pannucci Vying for Chip Lead

Level 9 : 300/600, 100 ante
John Pannucci
John Pannucci

There are some big stacks emerging as play for the evening gets closer to the end.

With less than two hours left, John Pannucci is one player who is in contention for the chip lead. He was already in good shape but has just got a large boost to his stack when an opponent shoved {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} preflop and Pannucci called correctly with {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

The runout held for the over pair and Pannucci is riding atop the wave at the moment.

Harder Eliminated

Level 9 : 300/600, 100 ante
Christian Harder
Christian Harder

In a blind versus blind situation, the flop was showing {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} when the small blind bet 1,600. Christian Harder made the call and the dealer revealed a {j-Clubs} on the turn. The same action happened, this time for 4,500.

The river was the {2-Spades} and after some thinking, the small blind announced all in for a stack of around 28,000. Harder thought about it for a minute and ended up making the call. His opponent turned over {7-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for trip eights and Harder quickly mucked {a-}{j-} for two pair.

Hawkins Down

Level 9 : 300/600, 100 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

The board was showing {9-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and around 10,000 chips were already in the middle when the Sorin Lovin and another player checked. Maurice Hawkins bet 4,800 and Adrian raised it to 10,100. The other player folded and the river brought a {j-Hearts}. Lovin quickly bet 20,000 and Hawkins made the call.

Hawkins tabled {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for the nut flush but lost the pot when his opponent tabled {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a full house. Lovin said: "Thank you, my friend," to Hawkins, who didn't reply.

Ramdin Finds a Double Up

Level 9 : 300/600, 100 ante

A player moved all in for a stack around 9,000 and Annand Ramdin called the all-in with a stack of 8,900 left. The other players folded to create the following showdown:

Annand Ramdin: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
His opponent: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Ramdin's hand was dominated but the board {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades} gave Ramdin a double up on the river and left his opponent with 300 chips left.
