Afriat Puts Pressure

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Eric Afriat opened to 500 under the gun and only the button made the call. Both players checked on the flop {2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

The turn brought a {4-Diamonds} and Afriat bet 1,000. His opponent called and the dealer showed a {a-Hearts} on the river. Afriat checked and the button player bet 1,600. Afriat thought about his move for a minute and tossed a stack of 1,000 chips in front of him for a raise. His opponent quickly folded and Afriat took down the pot.
