Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante
Parker Talbot (as seen in a previous event)
Parker Talbot (as seen in a previous event)

In a three-way pot, Parker Talbot bet 4,500 on the flop of {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}, forcing one fold. Michel Abecassis then put Talbot at risk for 250 more and Talbot called off for the remaining peanuts.

Talbot: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Abecassis: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Talbot rivered a jack for a straight and doubled up just before the tournament staff broke the table.

A Setback for Owen

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Adam Owen was in the cutoff and heads-up against the button on a flop of {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Owen bet, his opponent raised, and all the chips went in the middle in a flurry of activity with Owen having the larger of the two stacks.

Adam Owen: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Big blind: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Owen found himself behind with the smaller of the two overpairs and needed help from the deck to stack his opponent. The {A-Clubs} on the turn and {10-Hearts} on the river were no help to Owen and his opponent took the pot with a pair of aces to double up.

Stout Gets a Fold from Ohel

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante
Matt Stout
Matt Stout

With a substantial pot of about 40,000 already brewing and the complete board of {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs} on the table, Matt Stout bet 17,000 from the big blind into his lone opponent, Randy Ohel, who was in the cutoff. After some consideration, Ohel folded and Stout took the pot. As Stout began to stack his newly acquired chips, Ohel said he'd folded a set of eights.

Wigg On a Nub

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

Anton Wigg went to a war on the {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop, but it didn't go well for the Swede. Entering the flop with around 8,000 in the middle, Wigg ended up shoving for an effective 25,325 with {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} but his opponent snapped him off with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Wigg was in desperate need of hitting a queen or some backdoor draws but he was unable to improve on the {4-Spades} turn and {8-Hearts} river. The massive loss saw Wigg drop down to last four big blinds or so.

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante
Scott Bohlman earlier this summer
Scott Bohlman earlier this summer

Scott Bohlman and Mohsin Charania got all the chips in preflop in a battle of the blinds; Bohlman was in the small and Charania in the big.

Scott Bohlman: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Mohsin Charania: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Bohlman had the lead with his aces and Charania needed to improve upon his jack-high rundown to survive. The board ran out {6-}{6-}{2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Bohlman took the pot with aces up.

Hachem Looks into Nine-Eight

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

Joe Hachem was in the big blind, check-calling 1,600 on the flop of {9-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{8-Spades}. His left-hand opponent checked back on the {K-Clubs} turn and Hachem checked the {8-Clubs} river as well, then called a bet of 3,900. Hachem, however, couldn't beat {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} for nines full and had to concede the pot.
