Conrad Hits the River

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The player under the gun shoved for about 115,000 and Chris Conrad called from the button with a big stack.

Chris Conrad: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Conrad had the preflop advantage and his opponent needed to improve in order to double up. The {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades} flop gave Conrad's opponent the lead, the {Q-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing, but the {J-Hearts} river gave Conrad jacks full to send his opponent to the payout desk.

[Removed:550] Stacks Bonyadi

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Farhintaj Bonyadi
Farhintaj Bonyadi

Dan Heimiller opened to 35,000 from middle position, bracelet winner Farhintaj Bonyadi three-bet shoved for about 150,000 from the hijack, and [Removed:532] called from the big blind with a barely covering stack. Heimiller quickly folded and the two live players tabled their hands.

Farhintaj Bonyadi: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}
[Removed:532]: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

[Removed:550] had the preflop edge and Bonyadi needed help from the deck to win the pot. The board ran out {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and [Removed:550] took the pot to end Bonyadi's tournament.

Cada Three-Outed

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

After a min-raise from early position and a shove of 74,000 from the hijack, Joe Cada peeled {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and reshoved in the small blind. The initial raiser escaped and Cada was in a likeable situation as he stood against {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. The {5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop was safe enough for Cada but the {A-Diamonds} turn and {A-Spades} river denied his rights to collect the pot. Cada was left with 155,000 after the loss.

Force Doubles Through One and Stacks Another

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Three players got all the chips in the middle before the flop and Leif Force had the middle stack with 179,000.

Leif Force: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Opponent 1: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Opponent 2: {A-}{K-}

Force had the preflop edge and needed his hand to hold up in order to survive. The {J-Hearts} popped up in the window, prompting Force to exclaim "that's a good start!" The rest of the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Force took the pot to stack one opponent and double through the other.

Force told us that prior to this hand, he'd recently been worn down a couple of bad beats, including a hand in which he held {K-}{7-} on a {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-} flop against a player with {10-}{7-} and saw a {10-} show up on the river.

Ziegler Doubles Up

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Tobias Ziegler raised all in from the middle position, placing in his last 72,000. He received a call from the big blind and the chances were even as Ziegler had {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} versus {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The nines held on the {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} runout and Ziegler continued with 158,000.

Another Grospellier Casualty

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

All the chips were in the middle, the cards were on their backs, and the flop read {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} when we got to the table. Bertrand Grospellier had {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} face-up in front of him and his opponent, who was at risk for about 200,000, was showing {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}. The {6-Spades} turn and {5-Diamonds} river changed nothing and Grospellier took the pot to stack his opponent.

Heimiller Loses Coin Toss

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Following a raise to 22,000 from early position and a three-bet shove of 65,000 from the button, Dan Heimiller reraised all in from the big blind, making it 193,000. The initial aggressor tanked for a bit before folding his hand and Heimiller showed {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. He was up against {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} and couldn't dodge the overcards on the board of {3-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{A-Hearts}.
