Sam Simmons
Sam Simmons

Richard Ali raised to 650,000 in the hijack, Sam Simmons moved all in for 2,325,000 out of the cutoff and Eric Afriat woke up with the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} in the big blind. Ali escaped and Afriat learned that his monster was still only the second-best hand dealt as Simmons turned up {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}.

The board rolled out {4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Afriat spiked his two-outer to bust Simmons in 10th place.

Level 35 : 120,000/240,000, 40,000 ante

Eric Afriat raised to 500,000 in the hijack and found two callers as Richard Cox flatted on the button and Brayden Gazlay came along from the big blind. The complete board of {Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{K-Spades} was checked through and Gazlay turned up {A-Spades}{4-Spades}. Cox had him beat with {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} but Afriat tabled {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and took down the pot with a pair of sevens.

Afrait Takes One on the Turn

Level 35 : 120,000/240,000, 40,000 ante

Three players saw a flop of {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} with about 2 million in the middle and action checked all the way around.

The {J-Clubs} hit the turn and Richard Cox checked from the big blind. Joe Cada checked from the hijack, Eric Afriat bet 400,000 from the button, both players folded, and Afrait took the pot. He showed {A-}{Q-} and started stacking his newly acquired chips.

Joe Cada opened to 450,000 from the middle and Brayden Gazlay defended his big with a call. He paid 350,000 on the flop, then 750,000 on the turn, and finally he matched Cada's shove of 2,750,000 on the river.

Cada turned up {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for trips and scored a massive double as Gazlay held {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}.
