Richard Ali raised to 650,000 in the hijack, Sam Simmons moved all in for 2,325,000 out of the cutoff and Eric Afriat woke up with the in the big blind. Ali escaped and Afriat learned that his monster was still only the second-best hand dealt as Simmons turned up .

The board rolled out and Afriat spiked his two-outer to bust Simmons in 10th place.
