Tamayo Eliminated by Nguyen

Level 30 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Jonathan Tamayo
Jonathan Tamayo

Jonathan Tamayo raised all in for about 980,000 from under the gun and found action from Thi Nguyen in the small blind. Tamayo showed {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, trailing Nguyen's {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, giving Tamayo the lead with a set of eights. However, the {9-Diamonds} turn fell to give Nguyen the lead with a set of nines. The river was the {5-Hearts}, no help to Tamayo, ending his tournament in 28th place for $16,932.

Gazlay Wins Big Flip to Seize Overwhelming Lead

Level 30 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Scott Horvath and Brayden Gazlay were all in preflop and Horvath had a fair chance with {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} against {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Gazlay's eights, however, cruised through the board with zero harm as the {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} texture secured the win for Gazlay who improved his already large stack. Gazlay is sitting on a huge chip lead with 4,580,000.

Nguyen Scores Another Double

Level 30 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Thi Nguyen jammed for 275,000 under the gun and Jonathan Tamayo looked her up from the middle position.

Nguyen was excited to see that her {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades} was live against {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and she had more reasons to celebrate when the {9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades} board rolled out.

"Chip and a chair," Joe Cada said, sitting to Nguyen's left. "The next one's gonna hurt," he added.

Nguyen Stays Afloat

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Thi Nguyen was all in for her remaining shrapnel and her {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} held against her opponent's {9-}{8-} after she hit a queen on the flop. A nine on the turn made things more dramatic but the river bricked and Nguyen survived.

Thi Nguyen and Bob Shao ended up all in with big pairs with Shao having the best of it with {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} versus {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. The kings held on the board of {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Nguyen had to concede the vast majority of her stack as Shao doubled for 795,000. Sharma Sends Kessler to the Rail

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Chris Conrad opened the hijack to 125,000 and Allen Kessler three-bet shoved from the cutoff for 595,000. Nishant Sharma woke up with a hand in the small blind and reraised all in for a little bit more. Conrad got out of the way and Kessler saw Sharma roll over the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. Kessler had {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and the {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} gave him some backdoors.

"Club!" Kessler shouted but the turn fell {6-Hearts} instead. He asked for a queen on the river but the {4-Diamonds} sent him to the rail after the dealer verified that Sharma had him covered.
