Strelitz Finds a Double

Level 4 : 300/600, 0 ante
Daniel Strelitz
Daniel Strelitz

Badugi

Daniel Strelitz raised in the cutoff and an opponent on the button called. Strelitz drew one and his opponent two. Strelitz bet and was met with another call. This time, Strelitz patted and his opponent took two. Strelitz bet again and was met with a raise. He thought awhile and then put all his chips in, 1,775. The player on the button called and Strelitz patted a final time.

The player on the button thought long and hard before pulling a final card. Strelitz spread his {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} on the felt for a queen-badugi. His opponent rolled {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades} for a nut three-card drawing to a diamond. He turned over the {8-Clubs} and Strelitz doubled up.

Dragon Out Before Break

Level 4 : 300/600, 0 ante

Badugi

In a four-way four-bet pot, a player on the button patted all the way while short-stacked David "Dragon" Pham drew one the whole way. He ended up all-in after the second draw with two other players still competing for a side pot.

Pham eventually got there, showing {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} but his seven-badugi could beat only the player on the button who had nine-badugi. Unfortunately for Pham, the remaining player showed {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts} for the third nuts.

Zack Cooked

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Dan Zack was already all in when we got to his table on the final draw, pat with {9-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}. His opponent had {8-}{4-}{3-}{2-} turned over and was drawing pretty live. He rolled over a {9-} to make a superior nine-eight and bust Zack.

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Badugi

James Woods raised from the first position and called when Carol Fuchs made it three bets on the button.

Fuchs bet after got two more bets from Woods after the first and second draws where he drew one. Fuchs, meanwhile, was patting all the way.

Woods drew one more time and the action when check-check. Fuchs, who won the $1,500 Dealer's Choice event back in 2015, showed {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and took down the pot.

One Up, One Down for Martin

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante
Jesse Martin
Jesse Martin

Badugi

Jesse Martin bet from the button before the final draw and faced a check-raise by the small blind. Martin called and drew with his opponent standing pat. Martin called a bet on the end but couldn't beat {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

The next hand, Martin three-bet an open and went heads up with the small blind to the first draw. The small blind took one and Martin two. The small blind grabbed the lead with a bet and Martin called. Both players drew one and the small blind slowed down with a check. Martin bet and the small blind called. Draws repeated.

The end checked through and the small blind announced a three-card. Martin turned over the nut three-card with {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades} as well as the {8-Diamonds}.

At the next table over, Daniel Strelitz went bust. Dan Zack made his way back into the room to fire a reentry.

Zinno Toasted

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

We arrived just when Anthony Zinno was putting his last chips in front of him after the first draw in an A-5 Triple Draw hand. He was up against two players who tapped all the remaining streets. All players drew one on the last remaining draws.

Zinno turned up {7-}{5-}{5-}{4-}{3-} in the showdown, knowing he would have to leave his chair. One of his opponents rolled over {A-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{3-} and Zinno offered a "Good game, guys," before leaving.
