One for Zhukov

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

On the flop of {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Wayne Diep check-raised into a bet of Viacheslav Zhukov and was called. The {10-Spades} turn brought a bet by Diep and a call by Zhukov before the {3-Spades} river brought no betting action. Diep showed an ace-king-queen and Zhukov won the pot with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Hellmuth Sits and Wins

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Phil Hellmuth is one of the latest entries in the $10K Omaha Hi-Lo and he eliminated a player right away. On a {2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop, there was a sidepot brewing between Nick Guagenti and Hellmuth. Guagenti bet, Hellmuth made it two bets and Guagenti called.

Hellmuth bet the {K-Hearts} turn and Guagenti called. On the {3-Clubs} river, Hellmuth fired another street and Guagenti gave it up.

"Kings and tens," Hellmuth said as he showed {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}. His opponent had a lesser hand with {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and was eliminated.

Owen and Steicke Eliminated; Witteles Chops

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Adam Owen's attempt to win the 10K Omaha Hi-Lo has come to an end in the penultimate level of the first day. The British mixed game specialist was making his way out of the tournament area with his hand already face-down in the muck.

Owen was chopped up by Grzegorz Trelski and Randy Ohel. Trelski held {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades} on a {7-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} for the high hand, Ohel took the other half with an unknown low hand, and Owen was eliminated. Shortly after, David Steicke was also eliminated at the same table.

After Steicke busted, a very short stack Todd Witteles got it in as well against Trelski. Witteles had {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades} and chopped against Trelski's {7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} on a {8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} board.

Bjorin Busts Hochman

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Chris Bjorin
Chris Bjorin

Corey Hochman limped in and Chris Bjorin raised. Hochman gave it some thought and three-bet, Bjorin called. On the {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, Hochman bet and Bjorin raised. Hochman again shook his head, carefully checked the own stack and opted to make it three bets, Bjorin called.

The {K-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Hochman bet 6,000 with 1,500 behind, Bjorin raised and Hochman called all in.

Corey Hochman: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Chris Bjorin: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

The {J-Clubs} on the river gave Bjorin a boat and Hochman was sent to the rail. "Are you okay over there?" Dan Shak asked from the other side of the table.

Jean-Robert Bellande

Mike Wattel was all in for around 20,000 on a {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop and he was up against Jean-Robert Bellande.

Mike Wattel: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Jean-Robert Bellande: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}

Wattel held the lead on the flop with jacks and sevens but Bellande held a plethora of outs. The board ran out {6-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} to improve Bellande to trip sixes and send Wattel to the rail.

Taylor Still In It; Ramos Chips Up Some

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Mack Lee raised and Julien Martini three-bet, which was called by Felipe Ramos on the button and Lee. The trio checked the {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop and the {6-Spades} on the turn was checked by Lee, Martini bet and both opponents called. On the {3-Hearts} river, Lee and Martini checked and Ramos' bet was called by Lee only.

Ramos showed the {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Lee took the high pot with {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

Esther Taylor was all in for fewer than one big bet on a flop of {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Steve Chanthabouasy called with the {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Taylor had {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and the {9-Hearts} turn and {4-Diamonds} river completed the board. "You're welcome," Randy Ohel said on the other side of the table and Taylor replied "you owe me far more than that."

Schulman Eliminates Negreanu

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

It hasn't been the best of days for Daniel Negreanu at the tables and "KidPoker" had dwindled down to 12,200 when his final hand happened. It was Nick Schulman who opened the action to Negreanu's right.

"Raisy daisy," Negreanu said as he put in a third bet. Schulman four-bet and Negreanu called before his final chips went in on the {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop.

Daniel Negreanu: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Nick Schulman: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Negreanu was drawing live for both ends of the pot but the {7-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} river left the six-time bracelet winner second best.

"I'm good," Negreanu chuckled. "What do you gotta do, I have kings, guy's got aces," he said as he made his way to the exit.
