Daniel Alaei Eliminated in 21st Place ($14,912)

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei

Daniel Alaei raised from early position and was called by Paul Volpe to his left and Mike Matusow in the big blind.

The flop was {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and action checked to Alaei who bet, moving all in for 5,000. Volpe and Matusow both called.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Matusow led out with a bet. Volpe thought for a while then folded.

"I have a full house," Matusow said revealing his cards.

Mike Matusow: {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Daniel Alaei: {A-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The river was the {10-Hearts} which didn't improve Alaei at all and he was sent to the rail to collect $14,912 for his 21st-place finish.

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Lars Gronning
Lars Gronning

Lars Gronning raised early and Steve Chanthabouasy called in the big blind. It came {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Gronning bet. Chanthabouasy put him all in for 5,000 more and Gronning called.

Lars Gronning: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Steve Chanthabouasy: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Chanthabouasy had outflopped his foe and neither the {4-Clubs} nor the {5-Spades} helped Gronning.

Gronning and Bohlman Need Heat

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Rob Mizrachi opened for a raise under the gun and Nikolai Yakovenko reraised on his left. Lars Gronning called in the small blind and it went three ways to {j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. Yakovenko bet and the others called. The {j-Diamonds} checked around and the river was a {3-Hearts}. Gronning bet and Mizrachi raised. Yakovenko cold-called and Gronning folded.

Mizrachi showed {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} for jacks full. Yakovenko mucked {a-}{3-} face up and his other cards face down.

In the next hand, Mizrachi won another pot off Scott Bohlman betting river on {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} after the turn checked through. Bohlman now has crumbs as well.

Volpe Scoops Ramos

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

There was a multitude of bets in front of each player on the river between Paul Volpe and Felipe Ramos. The board showed {3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Volpe led out with yet another bet. Ramos thought for a bit before eventually deciding to call.

"Straight," Volpe said, showing {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the nut straight. Ramos shook his head in dismay and mucked as the monster pot was sent over to Volpe, pushing him to nearly 600,000 chips.

Four to a Wheel Scares Mizrachi Off

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Steve Chanthabouasy bet from the small blind on {3-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Rob Mizrachi raised in the cutoff. Chanthabouasy reraised and Mizrachi called. The {2-Diamonds} turn made the board even scarier and Chanthabouasy bet again. This time, Mizrachi released his cards.

White and Miaso Chop a Big One

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Eli Elezra limped preflop as did Talon White, and the blinds came along for the minimum to {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, which checked through. The turn was the {a-Spades} and everyone put in two bets. It looked like Eli Elezra fired initially and got called twice before Miaso check-raised. The river was a {q-Spades} and Miaso bet. White raised and Miaso thought for about a minute before calling.

Both players held the nuts. Miaso's {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} was a nut low and White had {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the nut flush.

Nut-Nut Sends Gronning into the Danger Zone

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Robert Mizrachi opened and was called by Lars Gronning and Jonathan Depa in the blinds.

The flop was {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and action checked to Mizrachi on the flop and he bet. Gronning raised which earned a fold from Depa. Mizrachi just called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Gronning led out with a bet. Mizrachi raised and Gronning thought for a bit before calling.

On the {5-Clubs} river, Gronning just check-called a bet from Mizrachi.

"Nut-nut," Mizrachi said, showing {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Clubs} for quads and the nut low. Gronning could only produce {A-}{3-}{K-}{K-} for the nut low and a pair of kings as well, so he collected only one quarter of the pot.

Yakovenko Bet-Folds Twice

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Nikolai Yakovenko opened under the gun and got action from Steve Chanthabouasy a couple of seats over. They checked the flop to a board of {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Yakovenko bet and Chanthabouasy tanked briefly then announced a raise. Yakovenko mucked.

The next hand, Jonathan Depa opened button and called a three-bet from Yakovenko. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Yakovenko bet. Again, he folded to a raise, dropping below 300,000 in the process.
