Queens Bring Lady Luck for Minkin

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Kelly Minkin
Kelly Minkin

Kelly Minkin moved all in for 1.5 million from middle position and saw Mark Zullo reshove for 4.3 million from the cutoff. The rest of the players at the table got out the way, and Minkin saw she was in bad shape.

Kelly Minkin: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Mark Zullo: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Board: {8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Spades}

Minkin, the last remaining woman in the Main Event, spiked a queen on the flop to take the lead, and her rail cheered in the ESPN Main Stage arena. The turn didn't help Zullo, and the river queen of spades only increased Minkin's hand to trips and secured her a lifeline.

Cole Miller

Cole Miller raised and Sylvain Loosli three-bet on the button. Miller then four-bet to 2,200,000 and Loosli called.

The flop came {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Miller open-shoved for around 3,350,000. Loosli snap-called.

Cole Miller: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Sylvain Loosli: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and, after a quick count, Miller was found to be the short stack and he was eliminated.

Sick Runout Sees Wilson Busted

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Dan Wilson
Dan Wilson

Michael Feil opened on the button for 210,000 and Dan Wilson three-bet to 685,000 on his left. Feil announced all in and Wilson snap-called, tabling {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. He was behind against {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, but the {a-Spades} in the window was the last card Feil wanted to see. It was followed by {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and then an {8-Diamonds} turn. The river brought the {q-Diamonds} though, the only out Feil had.

Feil had about 4.2 million and Wilson slightly under 4 million, so Wilson headed to payouts.

Barrell Eliminated by Labat

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

Action was on Antoine Labat, who had limped from the button and was facing an all-in shove from Mason Barrell in the small blind for about 1,000,000. Eventually, Labat called and showed {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}, slightly trailing Barrell's {K-Spades}{4-Spades}.

The board came down {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, giving Labat queens up to eliminate Barrell.

Double Knockout Vaults Labat into The Lead

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Brent Ballentine & Antoine Labat
Brent Ballentine & Antoine Labat

Michael Fail raised to 210,000 from early position and Alex Lynskey called on the button. Brent Ballentine moved all in for 1,435,000 in the small blind, and Antoine Labat in the big blind asked for a count, then announced the call. Feil moved all in for just over 7.5 million to force an instant fold from Lynskey. Labat called in a heart beat.

Brent Ballentine: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Michael Feil: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Antoine Labat: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

"This is so sick," queens versus kings and aces, Feil said when he flashed his own cards high for his rail to see. The board came {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and the stacks were counted. Labat had more than 8 million in chips, thus confirming a double knockout and vaulting the Frenchman into the top spot.

No River Miracle For Azevedo; Eliminated by Rean

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Franklin Azevedo
Franklin Azevedo

After a raise to 225,000 from Nirath Rean, Franklin Azevedo moved all in for 1,400,000. Action folded around back to Rean who called off the excess amount.

Nirath Rean: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Franklin Azevedo: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} which gave Azevedo a slew of outs along the way, but unlike his other compatriots at the outer feature table, Azevado wasn't able to hit the river to catch up and survive and he was eliminated.

Rean moved to 12,600,000 after collecting the pot.

Volodymyr Drokin

Ubaid Habib opened on the button with a raise to 275,000. Next to act in the small blind, Volodymyr Drokin moved all in for 2,335,000. In the big blind, Barry Hutter moved all in over the top. Action was back on Habib who released quickly.

Barry Hutter: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Volodymyr Drokin: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} which gave Hutter a set on the flop but also gave Drokin a flush draw. Unfortunately for Drokin he was only able to improve to a set and he would be sent home in 56th place to collect $129,930 for his run in this year's Main Event.

Alex Lynskey raised to 250,000 from middle position, Randall Lack three-bet to 650,000 from the button, and Mark Stockton four-bet shoved from the small blind for 970,000. Paulo Goncalves called out of the big blind, Lynskey folded, and Lack called.

Both Goncalves and Lack proceeded to check down a board of {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and Stockton tabled {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Lack, though, showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}, besting Goncalves' {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and Stockton's queen to eliminate Stockton in 52nd place.

Nghia Le raised to 240,000 from under the gun and Alexander Haro three-bet to 800,000 from middle position. Mike Jukich was in the big blind and four-bet all in for just over 10 big blinds. Le thought before moving all in and Haro called, putting both players at risk.

Mike Jukich: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Nghia Le: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Alexander Haro: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} with Jukich eliminated, and Le doubled through Haro.

Kelly Minkin Eliminated in 50th Place ($156,265)

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Kelly Minkin
Kelly Minkin

The action folded around to Kelly Minkin on the button, and she raised to 255,000. Frederik Jensen was in the small blind and raised to 715,000. Bart Lybaert folded in the big blind, and the action was back on Minkin.

Minkin made her move and shoved all in for 2.23m. Jensen made the call, and Minkin saw she needed help from the board once more.

Kelly Minkin: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Frederik Jensen: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Minkin picked up additional outs on the flop when the king and queen appeared to give her a gutshot straight draw. But the board bricked for Minkin, and her elimination in 50th place for $156,265 was confirmed as the Amazon room gave her a loud round of applause for her efforts.

Minkin also had the honor of being named the longest lasting female player in the WSOP Main Event for the second time in four years.
