Campbell Scoops Ross

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Badacey

Big blind Mike Ross check-called a bet after the second pull and needed a card. Robert Campbell was pat on the button and Ross checked the end. Campbell bet and Ross thought about 30 seconds and slid in a call.

"Praying for half," he declared.

Campbell wouldn't be giving it up as his {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} — a nine-nine — was good. Ross showed {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} along with an unhelpful {3-Spades}.

At the neighboring table, David "ODB" Baker busted.

Watson on Heaps Despite Doubling Monnette

Mike Watson

No-Limit Hold'em

John Monnette got his last 43,200 in preflop with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} in the cutoff but was dominated by the {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} held by Mike Watson. The {9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} board brought two of Monnette's outs though, so he collected a double.

Despite the setback "SirWatts" has had a very fruitful run of late and finds himself in contention for the chip lead.

Mueller Talks Nakamura into a Fold

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Greg Mueller went all in for his last 23,600 on the small blind, and started a bit of speech play on Tamon Nakamura in the big blind.

"It's not worth it, you can fold this one," Mueller said. Nakamura laughed, told Mueller he had an ace, but then folded. He showed Nakamura one card and said that card was his kicker as he brought in the pot.

"You should be ashamed of yourself," joked Frank Kassela.

Kassela Still Hanging On

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Three-time bracelet winner Frank Kassela has been short stacked for most of Day 2, but he keeps surviving and he's among the final 36 players.

His latest double-up came at the expense of Pawel Andrzejewski, who went all in from the hijack and got a call from Kassela.

Pawel Andrzejewski: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Frank Kassela: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Kassela had his opponent dominated, and the board ran out {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, sending Andrzejewski to the rail and putting Kassela back up to 110,000.
