Frank Survives on the Bubble

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

With the action slowing due to hand for hand bubble play, Christopher Frank shoved his short stack of 43,000 from middle position. He got a call from Shannon Shorr who was under the gun.

After every other hand in the room finished, all attention turned to one table. Several players pulled out their phones to record the moment, most of them hoping for a bust.

They would need help though as Frank's {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} were far ahead of the {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} of Shorr.

The board ran out clean for the Frank as it came {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and he avoided the fate of being bubble boy for now.

Farrell's Kings Hold on the Bubble

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

From early position, Niall Farrell shoved all but 10,000 of his stack in the middle.

From the cutoff, Jason Koon re-shoved his larger stack in the middle, which quickly folded out everyone and the action was back on Farrell who tossed in his remaining 10,000 for a total of 66,000.

Farrell held the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} against Koon's {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} as everyone at the table confirmed that they did not fold a queen.

The board would be queenless as well as it ran out {4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades} to keep Farrell alive and put Koon on fumes.

Dong Bets Almost Everything

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Emile Schiff raised to 12,000 from the hijack and Chen Dong three-bet to 38,000 in the cutoff. Action folded back to Schiff who called.

The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}, Schiff check-called the 30,000 continuation-bet of Dong.

They both checked through the {2-Diamonds} on the turn to the {4-Spades} on the river. Schiff checked for the last time and Dong counted out his stack before pushing almost all of it over the line (171,500), leaving himself behind with 500. Schiff tanked for a while and the rest of the field flocked the table. After contemplating it for a minute or two, Schiff opted to fold.

Dong sighed from relief and then said Schiff could choose a card to see. Schiff said it didn't matter which one and the dealer offered to choose one. Dong let her and she picked the {q-Hearts}.

Bubble Boy Jai Singh

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Under the gun, Jai Singh raised to 13,000. Ben Heath was on the button and three-bet to 28,000.

After a couple of moments, Singh shoved for his remaining 120,000 and Heath called without hesitation.

There was one other hand in progress at another table that took a while to be completed, then all attention in the room focused on the all in.

It was a classic race. Singh held {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} while Heath held {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

The flop was a mundane {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. The turn did not help Singh as it came the {4-Hearts}. Only an ace could save Singh from being the bubble boy and unfortunately for him, it did not come with the river falling the {6-Diamonds} forcing Singh to finish the tournament in a cashless 61st place.

Every other player left is now in the money and will receive a minimum of at least $7,476

Frank Doubles Through Heath

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a board reading {7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts} Christopher Frank shoved all in and got a call from Ben Heath.

Heath showed the {j-Spades}{k-Spades} for top pair but Frank showed one better with his {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} overpair.

The river was a harmless {10-Clubs} to give Frank a big double up as he continues to climb after nearly going out on the bubble.
