Hasnip Picks Off Bluff

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Richard Hasnip opened to 35,000 from the hijack and action folded around to James Romero, who defended his big blind. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Romero thought for close to a full minute before leading out with a bet of 65,000. Hasnip made the call, bringing the {2-Diamonds} river. Romero again went deep into the tank with action on him, taking at least another minute before firing a bet of 155,000. Hasnip confirmed the amount, thought for a little while, and put out chips to call.

Immediately after Hasnip pushed the chips forward, Romero sent his cards forcefully to the muck and Hasnip took down the pot at showdown without exposing his cards.

Reichenstein Sends Theologis Packing

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Uri Reichenstein opened with a raise to 50,000 from the cutoff position, the button and small blind player called. Action was on Alexandros Theologis who moved all in for 500,000 from the big blind, Reichenstein called.

Uri Reichenstein: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Alexandros Theologis: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Theologis was behind and at risk elimination and the flop of {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} was no help.

The turn came the {7-Spades} and Theologis needed a king or queen to stay alive.

The {a-Clubs} came on the river and Theologis was sent home.

Baron Sends Another Home

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Isaac Baron
Isaac Baron

On the very next hand following his recent knockout, Javier Icaza shoved all in for around 230,000 from under the gun and action folded to Isaac Baron in the small blind. Baron called and Linglin Zeng folded from the big blind and it was off to the races.

Isaac Baron: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Javier Icaza: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

"Ace-king again?!" Zeng said when Baron turned his hand over. Baron said he hoped that he would be on the favorable side of the race again and Zeng told him that it would be okay and that he was flipping well today.

The flop and turn came {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Icaza was one card away from the double up until the dealer turned over the {a-Spades} for the river, giving Baron a higher pair and his second elimination in as many hands.

Baron Sends Johnson Packing

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Action folded to Chris Johnson on the button and he announced that he was all in. The player in the small blind folded and Isaac Baron quickly called from the big blind.

Chris Johnson: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Isaac Baron: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Baron's ace-high was good. Both players had nearly identical stacks and after the dealer tallied Johnson's total of 299,000 and Baron's 309,000, Johnson was eliminated from the tournament.

The turn came the {j-Diamonds} and Tallen check-called Cornell's bet again, this time for 90,000.

Tallen check-shoved after a 145,000 bet by Cornell on the {j-Spades} river. Cornell tanked and then mucked his hand.

Moreno Wins With Queen High

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

There was around 78,000 in the pot on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and the pot was heads up between Andrew Moreno in the big blind and his opponent in the cutoff. His opponent had made a continuation-bet of 40,000 and action was back on Moreno, who check-raised to 108,000. His opponent made the call, taking the two to the {a-Hearts} turn. Moreno fired a bet of 154,000 into the pot and his opponent studied him for about two minutes before calling. The river brought {a-Spades} and both players hesitantly checked.

Moreno reluctantly turned over {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw and upon seeing it, his opponent checked his hand. "God! You win!" his opponent said as he shook his head in disbelief and mucked his hand.
