Zaichenko Binks the River

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Andrey Zaichenko was all in for his last 39,000 having been first to act and Nick Guagenti looked him up from the big blind.

"Low cards please," Zaichenko demanded while tabling his {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Guagenti had the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades} and the flop gave Zaichenko a straight draw on {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. The {k-Hearts} turn improved Guagenti to a pair of kings, but it was Zaichenko that reason to celebrate as the {2-Clubs} rolled off on the river.

Mike Matusow check-called bets on the {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop and {4-Spades} turn from David Benyamine, before betting himself on the {10-Spades} river. Benyamine raised.

"Really?!" said Matusow. "I should have check-folded," he said before mucking.

"I saved myself 30k," he continued. "It doesn't matter, I'm here to win the f***ing tournament."

Flanders and Guagenti checked the {5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop and turn and Flanders check-called all in on the {7-Hearts} river.

Guagenti showed {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for top set and Flanders took down the low with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts}

Haavisto Scoops a Double on the Bubble

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

The turn already showed {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Jake Schwartz check-raised to see Ville Haavisto call all in for a total of 92,000 throughout the hand. They had to wait until all other tables were completed and some table chat emerged.

"I didn't like the turn," the Finn said and Schwartz replied "that's good news for me."

The obligatory "they will chop it anyways" emerged and the cards were then tabled.

Ville Haavisto: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Jake Schwartz: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

The {a-Clubs} on the river gave Haavisto trips and he scored a full double.

Carol Fuchs
Carol Fuchs

Several players ran back to their seats just in time to get dealt the first hand of the level and among them was also Carol Fuchs. She got it n preflop out of the small blind against Yarron Bendor on the button and Robert Slezak in the big blind.

Slezak checked the {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and Bendor bet, Slezak called. After the {k-Hearts} turn, Slezak check-folded to a bet and Fuchs immediately said "it's over."

Carol Fuchs: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Yarron Bendor: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The {8-Spades} on the river changed nothing whatsoever and Fuchs joked "guess I should not have run back."

There are now 29 players remaining and the top 28 spots get paid. For each hand on the bubble, two minutes will be taken off the clock.

Kelsall's Set is Enough

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Ville Haavisto was involved in a hand with Jake Schwartz that saw the latter bet the turn and river of a board {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Haavisto folded to the final bet and dropped into the danger zone.

Andrew Kelsall was down to even less than that when he took on Ken Aldridge. He had 16,000 behind on the {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and was glad to take a check from Aldridge in the big blind, who announced two pair.

Kelsall tabled {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a set and scored a near double two spots off the money.

Zaichenko Doubles Up

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Andrey Zaichenko opened from under the gun and Nick Guagenti defended his big blind. The two proceeded to get their stacks in on a {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop with Zaichenko all in for 61,000.

Andrey Zaichenko: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Nick Guagenti: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Guagenti improved to two pair on the {7-Spades} turn but Zaichenko had outs to chop or scoop. The river {10-Spades} gave him a better two pair and he doubled up.
