Grapenthien Gets Value in Limit Hold'em

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Matt Grapenthien was in the big blind, calling Patrick Serda's open-raise from the second position. Grapenthien led out on the {4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop and Serda called. The {10-Spades} turn saw Grapenthien barrel and Serda called again. They checked the {q-Hearts} river and Grapenthien turned the best hand with {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Bronshtein Bounces Back

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

"I was down to 4,100," Yuval Bronshtein said with a big smile on his face. That emotion had one fine reason as Bronshtein is now guarding around 55,000. "I tripled twice in a row," he added to reveal how he got back up.

Bronshtein, who won his first bracelet earlier in the series by coming back from an eight-to-one deficit in a heads-up match, is now on a mission to repeat his feat.

Hellmuth Misses, Grapenthien Collects

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

A flop of {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs} showed, Matt Grapenthien bet and Phil Hellmuth called. The {j-Diamonds} fell as a turn and Grapenthein pushed in a bet that Hellmuth quickly raised.

Grapenthien called the raise and the {10-Spades} landed as a river card. Grapenthien checked to Hellmuth who pushed in a bet and Grapenthien check-called after a moment of thought.

Hellmuth angerly tabled {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw, giving him king-high and Grapenthein smiled as he turned over {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for just a pair of jacks but more than enough to pull in the pot.

Scoop for Glantz

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Matt Glantz called on fifth street with his opponent's board showing three low cards. Glantz hit a third low card on sixth and he bet when the action was checked to him. He received a call, and then earned yet another call on the river.

"Jacks," Glantz announced, showing a pair of jacks and no low. His opponent briefly flashed what looked like a pair of tens and Glantz scooped the pot.

Glantz: {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Serda Pulls Off Good Call

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Razz

Matt Szymaszek called Patrick Serda's bet on fifth street and the action was reversed on sixth as Szymaszek fired and Serda called. Szymaszek bet on the river as well and Serda paused for about 15 seconds before tossing in the calling chips.

Szymaszek: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {5-}{2-}{k-}{9-}
Serda: {a-}{3-}{q-} / {6-}{6-}{7-}{j-}

"Jack-nine," Szymaszek announced, knowing he wasn't going to get any slice of the pot. Serda finished with jack-high himself but his call earned him a decent chunk which helped him to vault close to 100,000.
