Long Makes a Statement: He's Ready to Defend His Tiltle

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Philip Long was in a huge three-way pot against Chris Vitch and Donny Rubinstein with all three players making it to seventh street. There was over 200,000 in the middle of the table and Long's board showed three wheel cards and a pair of fives. Vitch folded his hand but Rubinstein called with two aces out.

"Wheel," Long said, tabling his hand and Rubinstein only nodded. The defending champion scooped it all and vaulted over 500,000-mark.

Vitch: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} - folded on seventh
Rubinstein: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Long: {5-}{4-}{3-} / {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

Bronstein Pulls Two Pair, Sends Groth Out

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Tyler Groth: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} / {8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} / {3-Hearts}
Noah Bronstein: {2-Spades}{7-Spades} / {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs} / {7-Diamonds}

Tyler Groth moved the rest of his chips all in on fourth street and Noah Bronstein obliged. Groth ended with a pair of jacks and Bronstein was behind until seventh where he drew a {7-Diamonds}. Bronstein took down the pot with his two pair, eliminating Groth from the tournament.

Tryba Doubles Before Break

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

In a blind-versus-blind battle, Chris Tryba and Toby Lewis went to the first draw in a raised pot. Both players peeled two and Tryba bet. Lewis called and they both took one on the second draw.

"Whoo, we've got a fair fight," Tryba said.

The betting round was checked and they again drew one. Tryba fired one more bet, leaving himself with about 10,000 or so. Lewis called and Tryba showed he caught an eighty-seven, turning up {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to secure almost a full double.

Evans Adds to Stack, Eliminates Lewis

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Toby Lewis
Toby Lewis

NLH

John Evans opened to 16,000 from the button and Toby Lewis defended his big blind. The dealer fanned out {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} as a flop and Lewis checked.

Evans pushed in 25,000 and Lewis quickly check-raised to 90,000. Evans moved enough chips into the middle to put Lewis all in and he elected to call.

Evans turned over {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a pair of bullets and Lewis tabled {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, giving him a flush draw. An {8-Hearts} peeled on the turn and Lewis now added a straight draw to his list of outs.

The {9-Diamonds} failed to improve the hand of Lewis as he was eliminated by the two pair of Evans.

Livingston Blasts in Stud

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Stud

Chris Klodnicki was the bring-in with the {2-Diamonds}, Rami Boukai completed with a nine and Sokchheka Pho made it two bets with the {8-Diamonds}. His neighbor Alexander Livingston raised with the {k-Hearts} and only Pho was ready to see fourth street for three bets. Livingston continued on fourth and received one more call before taking it down with a bet on fifth where he spiked an ace.

Pho: {x-}{x-} / {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades} - folded on fifth
Livingston: {x-}{x-} / {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Vitch Quartered by Deuces

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Chris Vitch raised on the button and Philip Long called in the big blind. Vitch barreled on the flop and turn of the {7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} board and they checked the river. Long showed {j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, hoping to get the full low half with the nut low but he found himself taking even more. Vitch failed to make a pair and his only right for the slice of the pot was through the low as he showed {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Long scooped three-quarters and increased his stack to about 700,000.

Bronstein Takes a Small Pot Off Bjorin

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Omah Hi-Lo

The turned board showed {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades} and two players each had two bets in front of them. Noah Bronstein checked-called a bet from Chris Bjorin and the {7-Clubs} fell on the river.

Both players checked and Bronstein tabled {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a full house. Bjorin quickly mucked, shipping a pot to Bronstein.
