Alexandru Ivan Eliminated in 6th Place ($38,051)

Level 40 : 600,000/1,200,000, 0 ante
Alexandru Ivan
Alexandru Ivan

Andrew Donabedian raised to 4,000,000 from the hijack and Alexandru Ivan called from the big blind leaving himself behind with just 2,800,000.

The flop fell {j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Ivan immediately pushed the remainder of his stack to the middle. Donabedian snap-called and opened {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a pair of aces and a flush draw. Ivan had {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and plenty of outs to hit two pair.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} which took away a ton of his outs and the {6-Diamonds} river sealed the deal for Donabedian who sent Ivan home with $38,051.

Wright Sticks, Loses

Level 39 : 500,000/1,000,000, 0 ante

Corey Wright limped in from the small blind and Andrew Donabedian checked his option. The flop was {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Wright check-called 1,200,000 from Donabedian. On the {j-Clubs} turn, Wright stuck around and check-called a second barrel worth 2,700,000.

The river brought a third club with the {6-Clubs} and both players checked. Wright revealed {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} but Donabedian had gotten there with the {q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a rivered flush to win the hand.

Ivan Gets "Lucky Too"

Level 39 : 500,000/1,000,000, 0 ante
Alexandru Ivan
Alexandru Ivan

Alexandru Ivan shoved his entire stack of 7,200,000 forward from the cutoff, more than the maximum allotted pot-size of 3,500,000. Florian Fuchs elected to call from the big blind.

"Don't want to put me all in?" Ivan inquired but the pair would see the flop first instead.

The flop came down {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Fuchs checked. Ivan stuck the other 3,700,000 in and Fuchs beat him to the pot with a call.

Alexandru Ivan: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Florian Fuchs: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

"You got lucky. Now I need to get lucky too," Ivan assessed the situation. He most certainly did, as the {k-Hearts} rolled off on the turn to send the table in a frenzy. The {4-Hearts} on the river even improved him further to a wheel. Fuchs simply shook his head and slipped to 3,400,000.
