Curcio Flops a Boat

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Yicheng Xu raised to 45,000 from the under-the-gun position and he was called by Joe Curcio in the hijack and Tuan Phan on the button. The flop fell {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Xu checked to Curcio who bet 50,000.

Phan raised to 150,000 and the initial raiser got out of the hand. Curcio called to see the {8-Hearts} turn. Both players checked this time.

The {6-Spades} fell on the river and Curcio bet 320,000 which sent Phan deep in the tank. He eventually called, leaving himself with just 170,000 behind, and he lost when Curcio opened up {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Lee Blows Table Away With Hero Call

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Preston Lee
Preston Lee

Fiodor Martino raised from the under-the-gun position to 46,000 and he was called by Adam Walton in middle position, Johan Guilbert from the hijack, and Preston Lee from the cutoff.

The flop was dealt {q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and it checked to Guilbert. He min-bet 20,000 and Lee and Martino called. Walton got out of the way.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Martino checked to Guilbert again. He put a bet ten-times as big in the middle when he pushed 205,000 forward. Lee thought about it for a long while before calling. Martino folded and he let them continue heads-up.

The {k-Diamonds} was dealt on the river and Guilbert wanted to see how much Lee had behind. It was 385,000 and Guilbert tanked for about four minutes. He then announced all in and he let out an exaggerated sigh when Lee didn't snap call.

Lee also shot in the tank and he called after a couple of minutes. Guilbert tabled {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Lee showed {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for the winning hand.

The entire table got up from their seats and expressed how impressed they were with Lee's call.

The action folded to Matt Russell on the button who raised it up to 59,000. Nicholas Salimbene was in the big blind and moved all in for around 300,000. Russell made the call and the cards were on their backs.

Matt Russell: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Nicholas Salimbene: {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Salimbene had two overcards to Russell's pair but was unable to connect on the board of {7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and he was eliminated.

Fernandez and Curcio Take Down Pots

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The action was folded to Francis Anderson who limped in from the small blind. Sergio Fernandez checked his option and the flop came {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Anderson check-called a bet of 25,000 from Fernandez and the {q-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Anderson checked again and Fernandez tossed in a bet of 60,000. Anderson still called and the {5-Spades} paired the board on the river. Anderson checked once more and Fernandez splashed in a bet of 130,000. Anderson tanked for over a minute before finally calling. Fernandez tabled {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and took down the pot.

Next door, three players saw a flop of {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the action checked to the {j-Diamonds} on the turn. Chris Grigorian and Vladimir Revniaga checked from the blinds again and Joe Curcio bet 60,000. Grigorian called and Revniaga folded.

The {2-Clubs} on the river put four clubs on the board and both players instantly checked. Curcio turned over {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} and scooped the pot with a flush.

Liberta Finds Aces to Double Up With

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

A player limped from middle position and Marcelo Giordano Mendes raised from the button to 86,000. Joseph Liberta found {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} in the big blind and he put his last 129,000 in the middle. The limper folded his hand and Mendes flicked in a quick call.

Mendes had {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and was very much behind against the pocket aces of Liberta.

The dealer put down a {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} board and Libarta doubled up to almost 15 big blinds again.

Take 15!

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The remaining 29 players are off on another 15-minute break. When they return, they will only be two eliminations off of a three-table redraw.

Revniaga Barrels Twice

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Vladimir Revniaga raised to 35,000 from the cutoff and Paul Hizer called from the small blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Hizer check-called a bet of 32,000 from Revniaga.

The turn was the {q-Spades} and Hizer checked again. Revniaga fired out another bet of 100,000 and Hizer still called. The {5-Clubs} on the river slowed the action as both players quickly checked. Hizer showed the {8-Hearts} but Revniaga turned over {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and was awarded the pot.
