Dempsey Sits Down in Time for Dinner Break

Level 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

James Dempsey avoided the height of the queue by simply leaving when he saw it, playing golf, and coming back now. He's based in the Pavilion Room where he's busy chopping pots with ace-high.

On a {5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} board which had not generated a pot larger than 8,000 all the way through, he led out for 5,000, called by an opponent who tabled {a-Spades}{10-Spades}, while Dempsey showed down {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades} saying something about how he wanted a call with king high.

Rivier's Rockets Bust a Player and Decimate Another

Level 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Daniel Rivier was in the midst of every poker player's dream as he was all in against two players, holding the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

One of his opponents, who had Rivier covered, held the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. What was already a dire situation for the queens became worse when the shortest stack of the all ins revealed that he held {q-}{7-}, thus eliminating one of the outs for the ladies.

The board stayed clean for Rivier's aces when it ran out {4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} to give him the huge pot, while busting a player and leaving another with crumbs (who busted soon afterwards).

Still a long way to go to get to the money for Alex Foxen in the Big 50 event, as he just took his seat after the dinner break, but he is nearing the money in Event #7: $400 WSOP.com Online No Limit Hold-em Event.

Foxen appears to be playing two WSOP events simultaneously with his laptop out at the table as he tries to break the approaching money bubble online while balancing the early stages of the Big 50 offline.

Hinkle, Kern and Cutler Still Chatting

Level 11 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Table 513 has been affable and full of banter throughout Day 1d, 13 levels or no 13 levels, and a number of its original occupants are still in their seats. Since our last round in the Amazon room, Hinkle's stack has dropped to 31000 (in three chips) but he's still talking away. Most recently overheard object of discussion with Seat 9: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

"The previous species wasn't technically a chicken," said Hinkle, arguing emphatically and persuasively for the "egg" side.

Meanwhile, Alan Cutler just busted a player, adding 34,000 to his stack in an all-in preflop confrontation. Cutler's {q-}{k-} out-flopped the {a-}{j-} of his opponent and he joins the elite 200,000+ club in Level 11.
