Sylvia Claims a Pot Before the Break

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Johan Guilbert limped in from the small blind and Jesse Sylvia checked his option. The flop came {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Guilbert led out for his classic min-bet of 4,000. Sylvia raised to 14,000 and Guilbert called.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and Guilbert tossed in another 4,000. Sylvia raised again to 18,000 and Guilbert called. The river was the {j-Clubs} and both players knuckled the table. Guilbert showed {k-Spades}{6-Clubs} while Sylvia tabled {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} to take down the pot.

The remaining players are now heading on their first 15-minute break of the day.

He takes 601,000 through to the final table on the hunt for his first WSOP bracelet.

Obst Rivers a Straight to Eliminate Pardo

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Byron Kaverman opened to 10,000 from the cutoff and James Obst called on the button. Juan Pardo thought for a minute before shipping all in for 104,000 in the small blind. Kaverman quickly folded and Obst asked for a count before making the call.

James Obst: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Juan Pardo: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The flop of {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} looked promising for Pardo who was hoping to dodge an ace. However, the {5-Spades} on the turn gave Obst a straight draw and he nailed it on the {8-Diamonds} river. Pardo was eliminated and Obst took a healthy chip lead at his table.

Bonomo First to Book a Final Table Seat

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

Justin Bonomo took a healthy chip lead into the heads-up battle with Ryan Leng. While Leng put up some fight, the hill was too much to climb. Leng found himself all in for around 50,000 with {q-Spades}{3-Hearts} and was called by Bonomo's {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

The flop fell {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Leng was all but out of the match. The {9-Clubs} on the turn sealed the deal and the {6-Diamonds} on the river was just a formality. Bonomo will now bring his 591,000 chips into the final table that resumes tomorrow.
