The river fell a {a-Diamonds} and Boatman looked at his cards once more before betting 5,000. His opponent folded.

Ferguson ''Will be Back''

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Chris Ferguson in a previous event
Chris Ferguson in a previous event

Chris Ferguson pushed his last chips to the middle on the {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs} board holding {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. He had to hit because he was up against {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and he was behind.

The river turned out to be the {3-Clubs} and that meant that Ferguson was sent to the rail but he warned his table when he got up that he would be back in the tournament.

Late registration is still open until the start of level 10 at the end of the dinner break. Players are allowed to reenter once.

Hui Chipping Down

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

The player under the gun limped for 800 and Phillip Hui raised to 2,500 on the button and was called by the players in the blinds and under the gun.

{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} appeared on the flop and after three checks, Hui continued for 5,500. The small blind raised it to 26,500 and it folded back to Hui who tossed a pile of 5,000 chips in front of him to push his opponent all in for his last chips. The latter called and they revealed their cards:

Phillip Hui: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
His opponent: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The rest of the board fell {4-Hearts} and {j-Clubs} and Hui lost the pot, his opponent holding a straight against his two pair.

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante
