Pretty Good Spot for Dempsey

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

British bracelet holder and four-card poker aficionado James Dempsey has had a good start to his Day 2, eliminating Donna Cooper recently to boost his stack to 600,000.

On a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, Dempsey, who'd raised preflop under the gun and found Cooper on the button as an opponent, had the "all in" lammer in front of him, but covered Cooper who made the call.

Dempsey: {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Cooper: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for the former but not the latter.

The turn and river ran out {2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. "I flopped the straight, and had top two. Pretty good spot," said Dempsey.

Monster Pot for Moravec; Tablemate Offers to Sell Video He Just Took of It

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Daniel Moravec
Daniel Moravec

Pot-Limit Omaha

A triple bust-out has benefited Daniel Moravec to the tune of a brand new multi-million chip stack after a hand so big a quarter of the table filmed it on their phones. A short stack's chips already in the middle, the hand was still four-way preflop. Barny Boatman's stack of 192,000 more went in too - called by both Moravec and Qui Luo. "This is the hand of the tournament," more than one player said.

"Nobody's more than forty percent," said Moravec with a smile, "We're just flipping cards."

On the flop of {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, Luo moved in quickly for at least 200,000 more and Moravec made the dall, having flopped top set:

Moravec: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Boatman: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Luo: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Fourth hand unknown

The {k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} followed on the turn and river, giving Boatman a brief diamond sweat, but it was Moravec's set that held to scoop the pot. So large is the lake of chips in front of him that his exact new count is still unknown, but tops two million.
