Smith Plays It Cautiously

Level 6 : 150/300, 300 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Ryan Hughes made it 800 in the hijack and Dan Smith flatted in the cutoff. The flop came {7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Hughes checked to Smith who bet 800. Hughes called and he opted to lead out 1,800 on the {a-Clubs} turn. Smith called and they checked the {3-Clubs} river. Hughes showed {k-}{q-} for a miss and Smith seized the pot after rolling over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

Kicker Trouble Sinks Leonard

Level 6 : 150/300, 300 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Patrik Leonard was all in on a jack-high board, holding a top pair. However, his {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} trailed {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} when the chips went in and he failed to improve, losing his stack on a board of {6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

Simao Tackles Obst in Huge Pot

Level 6 : 150/300, 300 ante

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

With the cards already face up in the middle of the table, a huge pot was shipped Joao Simao's way as James Obst was rushing away from the table.

Obst got his chips in with nine-eight-six but Simao had made {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and took it all. According to the players at the table, the last two draws were patted by both Obst and Simao.

No-Limit Hold'em

Eli Elezra raised to 800 from the second position and Phil Hellmuth called from the big blind.

"It's only fair that I win this hand," Hellmuth said, adding that Elezra had already been lucky.

The flop fell {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Hellmuth check-called 1,000. Then he called another 3,500 on the {4-Hearts} turn.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Hellmuth led out 4,400. Elezra paused for a moment.

"I flopped a set, Phil," Elezra said and then he threw the 4,400 across the table so the chips landed in front of Hellmuth.

Hellmuth showed {8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for a straight and the table started to laugh.

Elezra shook his head and mumbled something. "But this is Phil, so it's okay. Nice hand," he laughed.

"How do these guys do it? Power of positivity," Danny Noam observed.

Lisandro Would Win Either Way

Level 6 : 150/300, 300 ante

No-Limit 2-7 Draw

Jeff Lisandro three-bet out of the small blind, making it 3,800 against a raise from a player under the gun. They drew one apiece and Lisandro fired 4,500. His opponent called after more than a minute.

"Either a nine or a ten," Lisandro said as he only saw the spots of his new card. He threw his hand towards the middle of the table and it became evident that he finished with {10-}{8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}.

The other player mucked and Lisandro raked in the pot.

Flack Doubles Through Racener

Level 6 : 150/300, 300 ante

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Layne Flack was all in for 13,475 with the action after the second draw. John Racener tried to score the knockout and thought for a while after Flack patted. Racener eventually peeled one. It seemed that Flack had forced him to break the best hand as Racener didn't like to see Flack roll over {9-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{2-}.

Racener drew to a wheel, but he paired his {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} with another {3-}.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Three-way to a {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, Jameson Painter checked from the big blind and Denis Strebkov checked as well. Eli Elezra bet 1,500, earning a call from Painter and a fold from Strebkov.

No bets were made on the {j-Clubs} turn and the {6-Spades} hit the river. Painter led out 4,000 and Elezra called. Painter tabled {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} but it was no match to Elezra's {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.
