Christiansen Takes Some from Pike

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

In a head's up situation, the flop showed {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and both Jill Pike and Natalie Christiansen checked.

The turn brought the {7-Hearts} and Pike led out for 20,000, called by Christiansen before a {9-} fell on the river. Both players checked and Pike showed {4-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for two pair while Christiansen tabled {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a full house and took down the pot.

Pike, who finished second of that event last year, still owns a comfortable stack of 415,000 chips.

Belliveau, holding {9-}{10-}, was in bad shape for a double up and the {a-} on the turn didn't change anything but a {8-} fell on the river, giving Belliveau the straight she needed and Byrne chipped down to 210,000.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and Matson check-called another bet of 40,000 from Batorevicova.

The {q-Hearts} completes the board and Matson checked once more. Batorevicova continued with another bet of 60,000 and Matson called. Batorevicova tabled {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a bluff and Matson showed {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for trips to rake in the pot.
