Two-Thirds For Martin

Level 8 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
Jesse Martin
Jesse Martin

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Jesse Martin raised from under the gun and received calls from the player on the button and Barry Greenstein in the big blind. The flop came {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Spades} and Greenstein checked. Martin fired a continuation-bet and the player on the button raised. Greenstein and Martin both called.

The turn was {6-Clubs} and Greenstein checked again. Martin bet and the player on the button and Greenstein both called. The river came {9-Hearts} and Greenstein checked once more. Martin bet again and the player on the button raised all in for less than another bet. Greenstein and Martin called.

Jesse Martin: {2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Barry Greenstein: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Player on the Button: {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}

All three players had the nut low and split it three ways. However, Martin also had a six high straight to take the high portion and rake in an overall two-thirds of the pot.

Level 9 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Kyle Miaso
Kyle Miaso

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Todd Brunson, on the button, and Kyle Miaso in the big blind each had two bets in front of them as the dealer was pulling in the 1,200 that the small blind had committed before folding preflop.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Miaso checked to Brunson, who bet. Miaso called and the turn came {4-Spades} Both players checked, bringing the {6-Spades} river. Miaso put out a bet and Brunson looked back at his cards and shook his head before tossing his cards to the muck.

Miaso looked back at his hand and then sent it to the dealer in exchange for the pot.

Ivey Chipping Up

Level 9 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey was one of the max-late entrants into the tournament, having just taken a seat and won a few pots to chip up.

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Ivey raised from middle position and received calls from players in the hijack and big blind. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{a-Clubs} and the big blind checked to Ivey, who made a continuation-bet. The hijack called and the big blind folded. The turn was {8-Clubs} and both players checked. The river came {j-Hearts} and Ivey bet. His opponent folded and he took down the pot.

On the very next hand, Ivey opened from under the gun and action folded around to the small blind, who called. Brandon Shack-Harris was in the big blind and called as well, taking the three to a flop of {10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The small blind and Shack-Harris both checked and Ivey made a continuation-bet. Both players called.

The turn came {q-Hearts} and both players checked. Ivey fired another barrel and both players folded, making it two consecutive pots won without showdown for Ivey, who has over one-and-a-half stacks already.

Ferguson Another Late Entrant; Back At Starting Stack

Level 9 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Chris Ferguson is another face that has been seen in the tournament since the final break and end of the registration period. He had apparently chipped up prior to playing the following hand with Marco Johnson:

Marco Johnson: {x-}{x-} / {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} / {x-}
Chris Ferguson: {x-}{x-} / {5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades} / {x-} (folded on seventh)
Max Pescatori: {x-}{x-} / {a-Spades}{x-} (folded on fourth)

Johnson bet on fourth and Max Pescatori folded. Ferguson called. Johnson bet every remaining street and Ferguson called him down until seventh street, when he looked at his final card, folded his hand, and gently pushed the chips in front of him from over to Johnson, on his direct left.
