Some Bubble Stacks

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

David Mezei reluctantly called a bet of 50,000 on the river of a paired board and tabled aces with the nut flush to scoop the pot. There were no other major showdowns happening and below you can find some assorted counts on the money bubble.

Jaffe Jams Into Eldridge

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

David Eldridge had been taking turns in two events as he was still in the Monster Stack also and just returned to his seat when the money bubble started. What followed was a big pot with Will Jaffe, who check-called a bet of 160,000 on the {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} turn.

The {5-Diamonds} river paired the board and Jaffe announced all in. Eldridge had some 260,000 behind and released his cards into the muck.

Yockey Avoids the Bubble With a Double

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Bryce Yockey
Bryce Yockey

Daniel Alaei raised to 30,000 from under the gun, and Bryce Yockey called in the big blind.

Yockey bet 65,000 on the {j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop, then called off his last 242,000 when Alaei potted it.

"I've only committed ICM suicide three times this WSOP; might as well make it four!" Yockey said with a wide grin.

Bryce Yockey: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Daniel Alaei: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Yockey's set was ahead, but Alaei still had an overpair and the nut flush draw to draw to. Yockey ended matters when the {j-Spades} turn gave him quads, and after the {q-Diamonds} fell on the river, Yockey turned around and celebrated, saying, "About f***ing time!"

Zarin Essentially Doubles on the Bubble

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

On the {k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} turn, Tsakov Petko bet 30,000 out of the big blind and Jonathan Zarin raised to 135,000 from under the gun with just 16,000 behind. Petko eventually called and the {a-Hearts} came on the river. Petko checked, Zarin moved all in and Petko shook his head before sending the cards into the muck.

Andjelko Andrejevic started clapping, trying to make other players believe the bubble had burst. Some turned around and Zarin jumped out of his seat, smiled and celebrated "I survived on the bubble."

Marathon Hand On the Bubble

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Peter Park bet 20,000 from early position on a {2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop, and Alexey Makarov raised to 67,000 from the cutoff. Park tanked for a few minutes, then called.

The {4-Spades} turn was checked through, and Park checked the {7-Hearts} river. Makarov took his time before betting 128,000, sending Park deep into the tank. A clock was called a few minutes into Park's tank, and halfway through the clock, Park called. Makarov tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, but Park had {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades} for top set and the winner.

The Money Bubble is Reached

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

The money bubble has been reached as the field was suddenly reduced to just 79 players remaining. Noah Bronstein had already been eliminated and he was followed by Michael Song and Evan Krentzman.

Song got his short stack in with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} against the {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} of Will Jaffe in the small blind and the board of {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Hearts} gave Jaffe a full house.

Once Krentzman vanished shortly after, floor staff instructed the dealers to stop after the current hand.

Brandon Shack-Harris
Brandon Shack-Harris

Brandon Shack-Harris bet 40,000 on a {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board, and there was a call before Daniel Alaei raised to 235,000 in the cutoff, and Shack-Harris announced, "Pot," moving his last 710,000 in the middle. The third player folded and Alaei started to tank.

"I'm supposed to make the final table of this every year, just keep that in mind." Shack-Harris told Alaei with a grin.

"I don't think I can lay this down," Alaei replied. Shack-Harris responded with, "Good luck to us."

Alaei tanked a bit longer, then made the call, leaving himself just 100,000 behind.

Brandon Shack-Harris: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Daniel Alaei: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Shack-Harris was ahead with the nuts on the turn, but Alaei had top set and a flush draw to draw to. Alaei hit both with one card when the {10-Hearts} hit the river, and Shack-Harris made a quick exit from the tournament area.

Randall Emmett: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Jordan Spurlin: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

The {7-Hearts} turn was a blank, but Spurlin got there on the {4-} river to send Emmett to the rail before the money.

Hueber Sends One Home

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

After three players had limped in the pot, Thomas Hueber raised to 50,000 in the big blind. The under the gun limper three-bet shoved for 124,000, and action folded back to Hueber, who called.

Opponent: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Thomas Hueber: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Hueber hit two pair on the {6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop to take the lead, but his opponent snatched it right back with the {4-Clubs} on the turn. Hueber was able to fill up on the {j-Clubs} river, and he eliminated his opponent.
