Li Doubles Through Mordue

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

James Mordue raised and called the shove of table neighbor Yingui Li for 55,000 in total.

Yingui Li: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}
James Mordue: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Spades} flop gave Mordue the nut straight, but Li had a ton of outs with his top set and flush draw. He vaulted out of his seat and sat back down when the {5-Spades} turn secured his double up, which made the {8-Hearts} river a formality.

A Double and More for "Bakes"

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
David "Bakes" Baker
David "Bakes" Baker

David "Bakes" Baker was all in with most of his chips already invested previously and the turn showed {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Ben Lamb was his opponent, who called after short consideration and turned over {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} for a pair, open-ended straight draw, gutshot and flush draw.

"How is that not a snap call?" Baker said and tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for top set. The river was the {a-Clubs} and Baker doubled.

One hand later, Florian Fuchs raised and Baker three-bet the pot to 66,000, which Fuchs called. On the {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop, Fuchs checked and folded to the shove of Baker.

Goindoo "Robs" Emmett

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Ryan Goindoo raised to 16,000 on the button, and Randall Emmett called in the big blind. Emmett led out for 20,000 on the {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop, and Goindoo called. Emmett checked the {a-Hearts} turn, then folded to a bet of 35,000 from Goindoo.

"You're robbin' me!" Emmett told Goindoo.

"You can call..." Goindoo replied back to Emmett with a smirk.

Butkus Busts to Coleman; Goindoo Takes From Parry

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Having nursed a short stack for some time, David Butkus was all in with the {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} on the button and Maxx Coleman looked him up with the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. The board came {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Coleman rivered the flush for good measure.

One table over, bigger stacks Matthew Parry and Ryan Goindoo tangled and the completed board showed {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Parry bet 65,000 into more than 110,000 and Goindooo announced a raise. "One hundred more," Goindoo said and slid forward a raise to 165,000, then concentrated back on his phone.

Parry needed more than a minute to make up his mind and folded.

Brandon Shack-Harris
Brandon Shack-Harris

Brandon Shack-Harris limped in from early position, and Daniel Alaei raised to 26,000 on the button. Shack-Harris called.

Both players checked the {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, and Shack-Harris checked the {a-Clubs} turn. Alaei bet 30,000 and Shack-Harris called. The {q-Clubs} river was checked again by Shack-Harris, and Alaei bet 80,000. Shack-Harris called, only to muck when Alaei tabled {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a wheel.

Andrejevic and Henson Scoop Pots

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Andjelko Andrejevic
Andjelko Andrejevic

The action after the dinner break has slowed down with the money bubble in sight and just over 20 eliminations away.

Andjelko Andrejevic and Ray Henson both boosted their stacks without showdown. The former bet the pot when facing a bet of 35,000 by Tsakov Petko and a call by Joel Feldman on a {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop. That ended the hand right there and Andrejevic dragged in the pots with "I needed that one."

Hanson called a raise to 20,000 by Joshua Tieman and Dash Dudley also called in the big blind. The {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop was checked to Henson and his bet of 28,000 won the pot without resistance.

Lamb Slaughters Aces

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Ben Lamb
Ben Lamb

Ben Lamb had his last 164,000 in from middle position on a {8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop and was at risk against a player in the small blind.

Ben Lamb: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Lamb's set of kings provided a double after the {q-Clubs} turn and {j-Spades} river failed to provide any help to his opponent.
