Cates Scoops Ivey

Level 20 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Dan Cates opened the action with a raise from the cutoff. Phil Ivey was on the button and three-bet. Cates called and the two went heads up to a flop of {6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Cates check-called Ivey's continuation-bet.

The turn was {9-Spades} and Cates check-called another barrel from Ivey. The river came {8-Hearts} and Cates led out. Ivey called.

Cates tabled {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} for the nine high straight and eighty-seven, good for the dealer to ship the entire pot his way.

Vitch Survives

Level 20 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Bryce Yockey raised on the button, Josh Arieh called in the small blind, and Chris Vitch called in the big blind.

Arieh checked the {8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop, and Vitch bet. Yockey called, and Arieh check-raised. Vitch called off his last 50,000, and Yockey called as well.

Arieh bet the {5-Clubs} turn, and Yockey folded, sending the 20,000 side pot to Arieh before he and Vitch tabled their hands.

Chris Vitch: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Josh Arieh: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Arieh had the nut low and straight and flush draws against the kings up of Vitch. The {3-Diamonds} river changed nothing, and the duo chopped the main pot.

Chris Vitch

No-Limit Hold'em

David Oppenheim raised to 75,000 from under the gun, then called a three-bet shove for 285,000 from Chris Vitch in the big blind.

Chris Vitch: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
David Oppenheim: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Vitch pulled ahead on the {4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, and left Oppenheim drawing dead after the {q-Hearts} fell on the turn. Vitch improved even further to quads on the {q-Clubs} river.

"Overkill!" Yockey told Vitch, who responded with, "That's a waste of a river."
