Turner Takes from Hampton

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Jesse Hampton raised from early position and Jon Turner was his only caller. Hampton drew one, Turner two, and the action repeated on the second draw with Turner calling a bet in the meantime.

He called again after the second draw and Hampton stood pat. Turner discarded one and the final round was checked. Turner quickly turned up a nine, followed by the rest of his hand and his {9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-} was good enough to beat Hampton's holdings.

David Gee raised and Jake Schwartz defended big blind. Schwartz took two and Gee patted. Schwartz checked, Gee bet and Schwartz called then drew one. Gee remained pat and bet again, with Schwartz calling and taking a final card. Schwartz checked without looking and Gee checked back.

"Perfect. Badugi." said Schwartz as he rolled over {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs}.

"It's called a wheel," Dan Zack jested.

"I'm just mad I didn't bet," said Schwartz.

Gee Wins a Critical Pot

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Badugi

David Gee raised in the cutoff and Sumir Mathur defended his big blind. They drew two apiece on the first draw and Mathur took the betting lead, earning a call. He peeled one on the next draw while Gee still needed two. Mathur bet again and Gee called.

The final draw saw both players change one card and Mathur checked this time. Gee fired and Mathur took his time before calling. Gee had only a three-card badugi but his {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} was good enough as Mathur sent his cards to the muck.
