Zack Scores Another Double

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

With action picked up after the first draw, Jake Schwartz led out, earning calls from David Gee and Dan Zack. Schwartz stood pat, Gee drew two and Zack took one. Schwartz fired again, prompting a fold from Gee. Zack stuck around for the final draw where he peeled one card again.

Schwartz checked and called when Zack bet almost all of his remaining chips. "Wheel," Zack announced, securing himself an effective double up. Schwartz didn't have to show his hand as Zack wasn't technically all in.

"Gordo" Sinking

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Sumir Mathur raised on the button and both blinds called. Everyone asked for two and Brayden Gazlay bet out from the big blind. Mathur raised, Mike Gorodinsky called, and the blinds took one apiece while Mathur patted. They checked dark to Mathur, who bet. Gorodinsky called and Gazlay tank-folded. Gorodinsky pulled a final card, and each player checked the end.

It sounded like Gorodinsky announced a king, but whatever it was, it didn't beat {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-}.

Zack Triples in Badugi

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Badugi

Jake Schwartz raised on the button, David Gee re-raised in the small blind, and big blind Dan Zack slid his 35,000-chip stack towards the middle. Both Schwartz and Gee called and Gee patted. Zack and Schwarz drew one apiece.

Gee led out and Schwartz called. Both Zack and Schwartz drew one again and Gee fired another bet. Schwartz, however, raised this time and Gee paused before calling.

Gee and Zack both patted the final draw, but Schwartz was still looking to improve his hand, drawing one. The last betting round was checked and Zack showed {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades} to stay in the tournament, dragging the main pot. Gee took down the side pot with {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Schwartz mucked his hand in defeat.

"Pair," Gazlay said, showing {6-}{5-}{5-}{2-}{a-}.

Gregorich rolled over a perfect seven and doubled up.

Yeh had a good draw with {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} but turned over the {8-Clubs}.

Mathur Drops Two

Sumir Mathur
Sumir Mathur

A-5 Triple Draw

Brayden Gazlay defended big blind against a Sumir Mathur open and drew two. Mathur also took two and Gazlay check-called then took two again. Mathur drew one and kept betting, drawing one again while Gazlay had caught up to him. Gazlay check-called a final bet.

"Pair," Mathur announced.

Gazlay showed {10-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{a-}.

The next hand, Mathur opened again and Jon Turner three-bet in the big blind. Mathur called and drew two, one and one, calling the whole way against Turner's pat hand. On the end, Mathur finally folded and Turner flashed what looked like a wheel.

Mathur said he had pulled a three-sider but thanked his luck it wasn't a six to get him to lose more money.

Zack Finds Two Doubles

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Badugi

With action all-in before the second draw, Dan Zack stood pat while Jake Schwartz changed one. He tried to score an elimination by peeling one again on the final draw but Zack's {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Spades} prevailed and he climbed to 65,000.

2-7 Triple Draw

Zack's surge back to contention continued shortly afterwards as he tangled with Schwartz once again. In a four-bet action predraw, Schwartz took two while Zack stood pat. Schwartz check-raised and then called Zack's shove for 11,000 more. He drew one on the following two draws, but Zack found another double with {9-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-} as Schwartz failed to connect with {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}.
