Salewski Rivers Quads

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Philipp Salewski open-jammed for 735,000 from late position, the button player jammed over the top and both the blinds folded.

Philipp Salewski: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

Salewski was ahead with his ducks and the {2-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} gave him a set.

The turn came the {5-Spades} and Salewski just needed to dodge a ten.

The river improved Salewski's hand as it fell the {2-Spades} giving him quads and the double up.

Xu Makes Quads to Stay Alive

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

The action folded to Xiaosong Xu in middle position and he pushed his stack across the line, the player on his left asked for a count and after finding out it was 915,000 he moved all-in for roughly 1,200,000 and the table folded around.

Xiaosong Xu: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

They were off to the races but the flop came {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} giving Xu a set and the turn was the {2-Hearts} changing nothing, and the river {8-Spades} gave Xu quads to get a double up.

Eights Hold for Nguyen Against Opponents Big Slick

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Nhut Nguyen came up to us at PokerNews to tell us about a hand that catapulted him over the 2,500,000 chip stack that happened during the level right before the break.

Nguyen opened for 90,000 under the gun and a player in late position jammed for 700,000. Action folded back around to Nguyen who said he took some time before he called.

Nhut Nguyen: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Nguyen risked a little under half his stack on a coin flip, but it paid off.

Nguyen's pocket eights slicked through the {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board unscathed as he eliminated his opponent.

Jenkins Sends One to the Rail

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

A player from middle position raised, Steven Jenkins three-bet to 275,000 in the cutoff, the button folded and the small blind shoved all-in for 730,000. The original raiser mucked and Jenkins didn't think too long before putting in the chips to call.

Steven Jenkins: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Small blind: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Jenkins had his opponent dominated and improved on the {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, giving him top set. The {7-Hearts} fell on the turn, giving his opponent an open-ended straight draw, but the {4-Clubs} on the river was a brick.
