Maciel Flops a Set to Eliminate His Opponent

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Guilherme Maciel raised from the cutoff to 26,000 and the player in the big blind shoved all-in for roughly 220,000. Maciel called and they went to the flop heads up.

Guilherme Maciel: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

They were off to the races but the flop {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} left Maciel's opponent needing runner-runner to win the hand, the turn {3-Diamonds} sealed the elimination and the river {j-Diamonds} was a mere formality.

Hammond Flushes Alam to the Payout Desk

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

There was three-way action to the flop with 31,000 in the middle and board showing {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Christopher Hammond fired out a 95,000 bet first to act from the big blind. Michael Jost called sitting in late position and Chucri Alam jammed for 195,000 from the cutoff. Hammond called both players after Jost re-jammed when action came back to him.

Michael Jost: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Chucri Alam: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Christopher Hammond: {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

All three players hit the flop but Alam flopped the nuts with broadway.

The turn fell the {3-Diamonds} and Alam was looking to triple until the {4-Clubs} came on the river giving Hammond the flush to eliminate Alam and double through Jost for 493,000.

Former Main Event Champion Yang Eliminated

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Jerry Yang
Jerry Yang

It's a rarity when we get to see the former 2007 Main Event Champion Jerry Yang playing in any event at the Rio, especially when it's his first WSOP cash since 2015. Unfortunately, shortly after returning to his table, the former Main Event Champion was gone.

Yang has been very quiet since winning his title along with his $8,250,000 first place money, but having arrived to play one tournament, maybe we'll see him at the felt again later on in this 2019 World Series of Poker.

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Michael Capner open-jammed on the button for 55,000 and was called by Nan Hong from the small blind.

Michael Capner: {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Nan Hong: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Hong told Capner, "I'm fine with a chop", but the {j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop changed his mind.

The {4-Hearts} on the turn gave Capner the flush draw but he couldn't connect as the {3-Spades} fell on the river sending him to the payout desk.
