Day 2 of Event #66: $1,500 Limit Hold’em begins at 2 p.m. local time with 184 competitors returning to the felt out of a field of 541 entries, to continue to battle it out for the top prize of $161,139.
Returning as the chip leader is Shirley Rosario with 107,600 chips and she is closely trailed by Z Stein with 106,100. Timothy Su sits in third with 94,700. The top three are looking to claim their first bracelet, but they are followed on the leaderboard by players with bags of experience as well as chips.
Several highly accomplished players remain in contention including champions Benny Glaser (77,200), Joe McKeehen (73,300), Rep Porter (54,400), Eric Froehlich (52,700), Brock Parker (48,900), David "ODB" Baker (40,200), and Daniel Negreanu (34,200).
The top 82 finishers will not leave empty-handed, as the minimum payout will be $2,239. However, all eyes will be on the first-place prize of $161,139 and the WSOP bracelet.
The plan today is to play ten more levels of 60 minutes each, with blinds starting at 1,200/2,400. There will be a 15-minute break every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 6, at approximately 8:30 p.m.
