Ankush Mandavia Eliminated in 8th Place ($80,109)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Ankush Mandavia
Ankush Mandavia

Joao Vieira raised to 160,000 from the cutoff and saw Olivier Busquet call from the button before Ankush Mandavia put his final 180,000 into the middle. Both Vieira and Busquet put the extra in the middle and decided to check through all three streets as the board fell {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Mandavia tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} but was behind to Vieira's {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, to hit the rail in 8th place for $80,109.

Joao Vieira Makes Hero Call in Biggest Pot of the Day

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

It all started with a raise from Ankush Mandavia from the button to 180,000 and a three-bet followed by Joao Vieira from the small blind. Big blind Olivier Busquet folded and Mandavia called.

Vieira continued on the {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop with a bet of 430,000. Mandavia stuck around to see the {q-Diamonds} on the turn and it checked to him this time. He took matters into his own hands when he bet 425,000 on the turn. Vieira check-called on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} completed the board.

Vieira checked again on the river and Mandavia fired a big bet of 1,200,000 with only 275,000 behind. Vieira only had 1,700,000 and this was a big hand for him. He went into the tank for multiple minutes and Barry Hutter, who was seated on another table and who was playing a short stack for a while, went into the tank as well.

Hutter made it clear that it was unfair for him that Vieira went into another long tank while the blinds kept passing him. The clock was called on Hutter and an entire protest started. The clock was eventually called on Vieira as well after he had seven minutes to think about his decision.

Vieira ended up calling and Mandavia showed {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for just ten high. Vieira showed {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for a pair of kings and the best hand.

Hutter Wants the Double Up

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Barry Hutter has been short for a while and he's been looking to double up. He pushed all in a couple of times and that earned him some chips but the blinds pass quickly on the two four-handed tables. Hutter is now up to 1.5 million chips and that is a little under 20 big blinds.

The two tables will combine to an unofficial final table when there are seven players left and play will stop when the official final table of six is reached.

Vieira Wins a Small One

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Timothy Cramer raised to 175,000 from the button and Joao Vieira defended his big blind. The flop was dealt {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Vieira checked to the initial raiser.

Cramer checked behind to see the {8-Hearts} on the turn and Vieira chose to lead out on the turn. He put a bet of 280,000 in the middle of the table and that was enough to make Cramer fold his hand.

Calamusa Goes for Value

Pierre Calamusa

The complete {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} board was already on the table and there was about 700,000 in the middle already. Joe Cada had checked in the small blind and it was up to Pierre Calamusa in the big blind.

He bet 600,000 and that sent Cada in the tank for a little while before he ended up calling. Calamusa tabled {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and that was enough to win the pot as Cada mucked his hand.

Mandavia Finds Runner-Runner Flush to Double

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Ankush Mandavia
Ankush Mandavia

Timothy Cramer raised from the cutoff and made the call after Ankush Mandavia had three-bet all in for 1,475,000 from the button.

Timothy Cramer: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Ankush Mandavia: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Board: {6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Cramer had Mandavia crushed, and he kept his lead on the flop. The turn {3-Hearts} did Mandavia hope with the flush draw, and when the river revealed the {7-Hearts}, Mandavia completed the runner-runner flush to double from the brink of defeat.
