Calamusa Shows Kings

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Barry Hutter raised from the cutoff, and Pierre Calamusa called in the big blind.

The flop fell {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, and Calamusa check-called a 110,000 bet from Hutter. Both players checked after the turn revealed the {k-Diamonds} and when the river fell the {4-Diamonds}, Calamusa bet 325,000.

Hutter sat on his decision for a minute before he called and saw Calamusa table {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for a turned set.

Hutter mucked, and Calamusa picked up a much-needed pot.

Vieira Tanks For Seven Minutes

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

Ankush Mandavia sat in the small blind and he chose to limp. Big blind Joao Vieira raised to 180,000 and Mandavia called. The {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop was dealt and Mandavia checked to Vieira.

Vieira continued with a bet of 145,000. Mandavia called again and the {8-Diamonds} on the turn caused both players to check. The river was the {j-Diamonds} and Mandavia checked again. Vieira now bet 380,000 and Mandavia check-raised all in for effectively 1,800,000.

Vieira tanked and it eventually took seven minutes for him to find a fold. Mandavia picked up the pot while Vieira is down to less than 30 big blinds.

Jamie O'Connor

Jamie O'Connor raised to 100,000 from the cutoff and he was called by Barry Hutter from the big blind. The flop fell {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Hutter checked his option.

O'Connor continued with a bet of 90,000 but Hutter check-raised to 280,000. The Brit called and they saw the {j-Diamonds} on the turn.

Both players checked this time and the {7-Diamonds} was dealt on the river. They checked again and Hutter opened up {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. It turned out to be the losing hand when O'Connor showed {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Patrick Tardif
Patrick Tardif

Patrick Tardif raised from the cutoff and saw Barry Hutter three-bet from the button. Jamie O'Connor and Joe Cada folded in the blinds, and with the action back on Tardif, he four-bet jammed for just over 2,000,000.

Hutter paused for a second to verbally confirm the amount and then called.

Patrick Tardif: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Barry Hutter: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Board: {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Tardif got no help from the board after running his pocket pair into a dominating hand, and Hutter picked up the pot to continue his rise from Day 1 chip leader.

Tardif departed from the table in 9th place and secured his biggest live cash with his $59,338 winnings.
