Fast and Furious

Level 11 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

The action once registration has closed has been fast and furious. Firstrly, Thai Ha doubled through Jan Stein when he made quads with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} on a {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts} board to beat the {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} of Stein.

Then, James Chen was sent to the rail by Daniel Negreanu after the latter made a straight with {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} on {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} to crack the pocket nines of Chen.

And finally, Kane Kalas got his tournament off to the best possible start when his {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} beat the {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} of Ben Yu on a {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} board giving him quads and leaving Yu short.

Stein Eliminated; Yakovenko With Miracle Double

Level 11 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

Jean-Robert Bellande raised under the gun and got one call before Jan Stein three-bet all in for 25,000. Bellande moved all in and the next player folded.

Jean-Robert Bellande: {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Jan Stein: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades} giving Bellande a straight and eliminating Stein.

Meanwhile, Nikolai Yakovenko was celebrating a miracle double-up after getting his {a-Spades}{k-Spades} in against the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Anson Tsang. The flop {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} wasn't an exciting one, but the {7-Spades}{6-Spades} runout sure was as he made a flush and doubled his 56,000 stack.
