James Chen Eliminated in 9th Place ($230,801)

Level 22 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
James Chen
James Chen

James Chen pushed all in for his seven big blind stack of 1,360,000 in middle position. Brandon Adams asked for a count on the button and then made the call to put Chen at risk.

Brandon Adams: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
James Chen: {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Chen needed some help in order to stay alive but the {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} flop was not looking promising. The {3-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing and the {a-Hearts} on the river sealed the deal as Chen busted out in ninth place.

Steffen Sontheimer Eliminated in 11th Place ($195,862)

Level 22 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

Steffen Sontheimer slid out a raise to 650,000 on the button, leaving himself with around 100,000 behind. Nick Schulman shoved all in from the big blind and Sontheimer called off his stack.

Nick Schulman: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Steffen Sontheimer: {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Sontheimer was disappointed to see that he was dominated but the {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} gave him a straight draw. However, the {4-Clubs} and {3-Hearts} runout did him no favors and he was eliminated in 11th place.

Nitsche Cracks Aces to Double Up

Level 22 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Dominik Nitsche opened to 600,000 in the hijack and James Chen flat-called on the button. The two players went heads-up to a flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Spades} and Nitsche started with a check. Chen fired out a bet of 800,000 and Nitsche called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {6-Clubs} on the river. Nitsche checked again and Chen slid out a bet of 2,000,000. Nitsche check-raised all in for 2,720,000 and Chen quickly called. Nitsche showed {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} which took down the pot against Chen's {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Vogelsang Gets There to Double Through Sontheimer

Level 21 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Steffen Sontheimer opened to 350,000 and Christoph Vogelsang three-bet to 2,100,000 million. Sontheimer moved all in and Vogelsang called.

Steffen Sontheimer: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Christoph Vogelsang: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Everything was going fine for Sontheimer on the {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop and on the {10-Spades} turn, but the {j-Hearts} river gave Vogelsang a pair and he doubled up.

Kainalu McCue-Unciano Eliminated in 12th Place ($195,862)

Level 21 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Kainalu McCue-Unciano
Kainalu McCue-Unciano

Kainalu McCue-Unciano raised it up from the hijack and Nick Schulman three-bet shoved, putting McCue-Unciano to the test for his stack of around 2,600,000. McCue-Unciano called it off and the cards were tabled.

Nick Schulman: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Kainalu McCue-Unciano: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}

It was a coin flip to start but Schulman held on to the lead after the flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. The {a-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing and neither did the {a-Diamonds} on the river. McCue-Unciano was eliminated in 12th place but will still take home his second largest score of nearly $200,000.
