Lewis Rides the Rollercoaster

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Kyle Lewis found himself in a massive three-way pot, with one opponent on the button already all in on the turn. With the under-the-gun player still live in the hand, Lewis put in a 15,000 bet with the board showing {9-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

The under-the-gun player folded, and the at-risk player turned over {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, drawing to a flush against Lewis' {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. Lewis' two pair held up on the {5-Spades} river, and the pot pushed Lewis' stack to over 280,000.

On the very next hand, however, Lewis opened for 7,500 in early position and was three-bet all-in by a player in middle position, who jammed for his remaining 63,000 chips. Lewis wasn't even done stacking the chips from the previous hand, but thought for a minute and put in the call.

Kyle Lewis: {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The showdown brought bad news for Lewis as he was dominated preflop, and the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}{k-Spades} to give his opponent the double up. Despite that setback, Lewis still sits on 220,000 chips.

Shay Doubles Up to Stay Alive

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The under-the-gun player raised the pot to 6,000 and Patrick Shay behind him moved all in for 24,500. It folded around back to the under-the-gun player and he made the call putting Shay at risk.

Patrick Shay: {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Opponent: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The board ran {6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and with that Shay stayed alive and very much still in the tournament.

Templeton Passes the Test

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

John Templeton was facing serious aggression on the turn and river with big chips on the line.

The under the gun player put in a 20,000 bet on the turn with the board showing {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, and Templeton, three seats to the left, thought for a minute before putting in the call.

The river came the {3-Clubs} and the under the gun player snap shoved for his last 52,000. The dealer counted out the bet and Templeton tanked for several minutes, contemplating the decision. He finally put in the call and his opponent showed {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The bluff didn't work this time, as Templeton showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

Templeton complemented his opponent for the ambitious bluff attempt, and after the big win now stands at 225,000 chips.
