Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

John Cynn

Defending champion John Cynn's day has been anything but smooth, dipping to a low point of about 10,000. However, a pot late Level 3 has pushed Cynn above 20,000.

The flop read {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and action checked to the player on the button who bet 1,700. Cynn check-called from the small blind and the player in the hijack check-folded.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and both remaining players checked.

The river was the {7-Spades}, Cynn bet 4,200 and his opponent called.

Cynn tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, his opponent mucked and Cynn collected the pot.

Bouares Set Over Sets Carpentier-Perrault Again

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

It's a feat in itself to flop a set when playing no-limit hold'em and players marvel at it when they do so. It's another thing to be fortunate enough to have another player make a smaller set at the same time in order to get paid off. For it to happen twice in a day, to the same person, that's just crazy.

Earlier today, Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault flopped a set of tens and got all of the chips in the middle only to have Farid Bouares turn a set of aces. Just a couple of hours later, the two were at it again.

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}, the action checked to Carpentier-Perrault who bet 4,000 into a pot of around 11,000. David "ODB" Baker called from the big blind and Bouares check-raised to 10,000. Carpentier-Perrault shipped all in and Baker got out of the way, while Bouares called off his stack of 38,600.

Farid Bouares: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault: {4-}{4-}

Both players flopped a set and Bouares was out front again. The {k-Hearts} on the turn and the {k-Diamonds} on the river locked up the win for Bouares who doubled up through Carpentier-Perrault again. After the hand, Carpentier-Perrault was left with just 3,400 chips.

Greenbaum Doubles With Straight

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

In a raised pot pre-flop Jonathan Greenbaum and Deric Williams saw a flop of {10-}{6-}{7-}. First to act, Greenbaum moved all in and was quickly called by Williams. One of the players at the table predicted aces for each player but only Williams had them as he showed the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} which Greenbaum had the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

The turn brought it in for Greenbaum as an {8-} fell and the river {4-} gave him a big double up.
