Manole Busts James in Battle of 888poker Qualifiers

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Mihai Manole
Mihai Manole

Jason James raised on the button and Mihai Manole defended his big blind to see a {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop, which brought a check by Manole, a continuation bet of James and a call.

Both checked the {7-Spades} turn and Manole also checked the {10-Spades} on the river. James now bet 75,000 and Manole jammed to send James into the think tank. He had around 300,000 behind and called it off after two minutes of consideration.

Manole turned over {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for the straight and James ended up second-best with {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for two pair.

A Royal Flush for Postelwait

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mobile phone cameras were out at Table 453 for poker's rarest spectacle - a Royal Flush.

According to Sandra Postelwait, she called a raise pre-flop in position and both she and her opponent checked the {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop. She called another bet on the {q-Spades} turn and the river was the {10-Spades}.

Her opponent bet 60,000 and Postelwait raised to 150,000. Her opponent open-folded a {q-} and Postelwait turned over {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for a rivered Royal Flush.

Tam Picks the Wrong Time to Bluff

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Franklin Azevedo raised the cutoff to 20,000 and Joshua Tam defended the big blind.

The flop fell {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {4-Spades} on the turn. Tam check-called a bet from Azevedo of 30,000 and the {a-Diamonds} fell on the river, where Tam fired out a bet of 80,000 and Azevedo snap-called. Tam tabled {10-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a busted straight draw and Azevedo won the hand when he tabled {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Furth Picks Up Three Premiums in a Row

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Caleb Furth
Caleb Furth

There was a raise to 20,000 in early position and Caleb Furth just called in middle position. The button three-bet to 85,000 and the initial raiser folded. Furth stuck in a four-bet to 235,000 and the button called.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Furth led out for 135,000. His opponent called and the {6-Hearts} paired the board on the turn. Furth fired out another 280,000 and the button still called. The river brought the {7-Hearts} and with over one million in the pot already, both players decided to knuckle the table. Furth showed {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for a flush and his opponent mucked his cards.

In the next hand, Furth opened to 22,000 and everyone folded. Furth flashed {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} as he picked up the blinds and ante. Following that, Furth raised to 22,000 again and was called by the player on his left.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Furth check-called a bet of 32,000 on the flop and then another 105,000 on the {k-Clubs} turn. The river was the {k-Hearts} and both players checked. Furth tabled {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for two pair and picked up another pot.

Adler Doubles Through Esfandiari; Then Busts

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Adam Adler scored a lucky double with king-eight against the ace-queen of Antonio Esfandiari when he turned trip eights, and soon after he ended up all in for seven big blinds again. Esfandiari had jammed the button with his massive stack and Adler called for 74,000 in the small blind.

Adam Adler: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Antonio Esfandiari: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} board gave Esfandiari trips fives and Adler headed to the payout desk. Josh Prager had been eliminated before that as well.
